A brighter ZEISS lens® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 lets you easily capture everything from sweeping panoramas to heartfelt portraits. Because in telephoto, the aperture number reaches F2.8, its beautifully blurred, bokeh-effect outlines of your subject and gives you incredible clarity.

In addition, the impressive light transmission of the lens makes for the fastest possible shutter response, allowing you to literally “freeze the moment” when shooting fast-moving subjects. The built-in three-stop neutral filter 1/8 also expands your creative options, helping you take beautiful pictures of sunlit outdoors or streaming water with a blur effect.

Another welcome addition to the Cyber-shot™ RX100 III is the high contrast OLED Tru-Finder™, a retractable viewfinder offering even crisper and more vivid images. Optical surfaces of the viewfinder are protected with a special ZEISS coating® T*, which reduces glare and provides unparalleled clarity throughout the image. The camera is also equipped with an eye sensor that automatically switches the image from the LCD screen to the viewfinder and vice versa.

Detailed photos and Full HD movies are sharper than ever, thanks to the new 1.0″ Exmor R CMOS sensor with 20.1 effective megapixels and backside illumination. Much larger than the sensors used in most compact cameras, it produces high quality photos and videos with impressive bokeh effects.

Sensitivity in low light and noise is augmented by the latest Sony BIONZ X processor. Three times the image processing power of its predecessor, bringing new levels of image detail. It provides accurate reproduction of the most complex textures and high image quality at low apertures, and also reduces diffraction and sharpens pictures in low light by reducing noise in certain areas.

BIONZ X processor also extends video capabilities. The RX100 III is the first model in the Cyber-shot™ series to support XAVC S. Supports the professional XAVC standard to create breathtaking Full HD movies at 50 Mbps bitrate, keeping unwanted artifacts and noise to a minimum even in fast-moving scenes.

Want to capture every nuance of a golf swing, tennis serve or ballet jump? Shoot HD video at 100fps,[i] then watch your footage in slow motion on a dedicated app, like Sony PlayMemories Home.

Video shot without a tripod now looks more stable with Intelligent Active, which minimizes camera shake when shooting handheld. For the first time, the RX100 series has combined frame analysis technology and five-axis stabilization to deliver sharp videos even when shooting on the move.

The ability to output 4K photos to TV screens has also been added. High-resolution images can be transferred via HDMI cable or Wi-Fi Triluminos Colour support® Saturated colors and realistic textures are guaranteed when displayed on compatible BRAVIA TVs.

Despite its compactness, the model inherited a number of video recording capabilities from Sony professional camcorders. Its design includes a convenient HDMI output, which allows you to record Full HD video on an external drive. LCD screen and viewfinder have a “Zebra” mode, which helps to identify the brightest parts of the scene also worth mentioning is the dual video recording function,[ii] which allows you to create small MP4 files and high-quality AVCHD /XAVC S video files simultaneously.

Fans of self-portraits and selfies will enjoy the 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD screen, which can now be rotated 180 degrees, making it easy to take pictures at arm’s length and from up or down angles.

It’s also the first model in the RX100 series to support PlayMemories camera Apps for digital cameras: Now you have even more creative tools at your disposal, thanks to a steadily expanding selection of free and paid apps. Enhance your pictures with artistic effects and enjoy the convenience of Sony products with built-in NFC and Wi-Fi.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the improved manual control, which helps to create flawless pictures. For convenience, some functions can be assigned to a new programmable button or control dial. The button and dial are easy to set up and give quick access to frequently used settings.

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III compact camera sounds like a great option for a portable pro-level camera. However, I’m curious about its low light performance. Can it capture high-quality images in challenging lighting conditions?

This camera seems impressive, but I would like to know how it compares to professional-level DSLR cameras in terms of image quality and overall performance. Can it truly replace a larger camera, or does it have any limitations?

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III compact camera is often regarded as a professional-grade camera that fits comfortably in your pocket. But what sets it apart from other compact cameras? Is the image quality at par with higher-end DSLRs?

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III stands out from other compact cameras due to its exceptional image quality and advanced features typically found in higher-end DSLRs. It boasts a 20.1-megapixel sensor, Zeiss lens, and a pop-up electronic viewfinder, allowing for more flexibility and control over your shots. The image quality is impressive, especially in low-light conditions, thanks to its fast lens and improved sensor. While it may not match the image quality of top-tier DSLRs, the RX100 III definitely holds its own and is a favorite among professional photographers looking for a compact, portable camera without sacrificing performance.
