Sony A6000 mirrorless camera review

Sony A6000 has only recently appeared, but it is the most exemplary example of the latest trend in the appreciation of amateur photographic equipment, going beyond the psychological limit of $ 1000. They tried to justify the price tag raise in every possible way by equipping the camera with a maximum of functions. The built-in viewfinder is small, but its built-in OLED matrix shows one and a half million dots. It has a proximity sensor for the eye, automatically switching the image display from the display to the eyepiece.

However, modern amateur photographers would rather compose and navigate through menus with the help of a 3-inch screen with a tilt-adjustable mechanism. The camera offers a variety of software interface options for users with different levels of training and different needs, and therefore will be available for beginners, without prejudice to the needs of experienced amateur photographers. For the latter, among other things, there are 2 wheels to control parameters and 6 function keys to which you can assign various settings from a list of 47 items.

The A6000 is not without the integration of a hybrid autofocus system. Developers claim that the camera currently sharpens much faster than all APS-C competitors. Phase sensors are distributed over almost the entire area of the frame, and there are 179 pairs in total. By the way, “system” cameras advantage over DSLRs, where aiming points are often clustered around the center. Processor Bionz X, borrowed from the A7, provides the necessary speed for autofocus work during continuous shooting at 11 fps.

A6000 has a built-in Wi-Fi interface, augmented with an NFC chip. The camera functionality can be further expanded by software modules that can be purchased and downloaded in the proprietary PlayMemories store directly through the interface of the device.

The only significant drawback is its short battery life.
