Small but smart: ASUS Transformer Book Duet (TD300) powered by Android, Window and an Intel Core i7 processor

ASUS introduces the Transformer Book Duet TD300 , a unique mobile device that can be used as a notebook or tablet with one of two operating systems, switching between Windows and Android in a matter of seconds. The Transformer Book Duet receives superior performance from the Intel Core i7 processor, and its exclusive ASUS SonicMaster audio technology enhances the multimedia experience.

Four modes of operation and two operating systems

ā€“ The Transformer Book is a uniquely functional device, performing as a tablet or notebook with either Android or Windows 8 operating systems.1. You can switch between operating systems just by pressing a special key on the keyboard or a virtual button on the tablet.

The Transformer Book Duet boasts a powerful Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics, and 4 GB of DDR3L-1600 system memory, so it outperforms existing ARM-based tablets.

Unlike other switch technologies, ASUS Instant Switch is completely independent of virtualization, so each operating system has access to the CPUā€™s processing power. Switching itself takes place almost instantly, with the previous OS state being remembered so the user can resume from the same place later.

Design and functionality

The ASUS Transformer Book Duet TD300 features a 13.3-inch Full-HD IPS display 1920Ɨ1080 pixels , with a multi-touch interface that excels under Windows 8.1 on a number of features, including sensitivity and response time. The built-in speakers feature ASUS exclusive SonicMaster technology, which provides high quality sound.

The Transformer Book Duet offers a front-facing HD camera and built-in digital microphone for comfortable video chatting, while a solid state drive on the tablet and a hard drive in the keyboard dock are available for storing user data. Besides, you can expand the memory by installing a micro-SD card up to 64GB. The docking station features USB 3.0 connectors for USB 3.0 and USB 3.0.0, USB 2.0, Ethernet and HDMI 1.4, and supported wireless interfaces include Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 EDR.

The Transformer Book Duet features a textured concentric circle design thatā€™s unique to other ASUS mobile products. The device boasts a compact size: the tablet measures 342.7 x 216.3 x 12.9 mm and the docking station measures 340.9 x 217.6 x 16 mm. Total weight of both components is only 1.9 kg.
