This camera also boasts the widest-angle lens available today for rugged, waterproof compact cameras 21-105mm . It’s easy to take photos of yourself with this camera, thanks to its user-friendly design and swiveling 3″ display, a front-panel button as an alternative to the shutter release, and a special Selfie Mode that corrects distorted images.
Sports photographers love the Sport Burst and Sport Cam modes that capture every moment of it, while the enhanced Artistic Range is the perfect tool for your creativity. TG-870 owners can also use the OI.Share and OI.Track that lets you control your camera remotely via WiFi from your smartphone and share geo-referenced images on social networks from virtually anywhere, without a computer.

Sometimes when you take pictures in bright, sunny light, you can barely make out anything on your LCD monitor. The TG-870 has increased the maximum brightness of the LCD monitor to 2.6 times the brightness of a conventional monitor.
A 21-105mm wide-angle lens and five-times optical zoom combined with a 16MP backlit CMOS sensor, the powerful TruePic VII processor and iHS technologies ensure high quality throughout the frame even with fast-moving subjects and low-light conditions. New AF lock function means total freedom to focus for you, including underwater modes Snapshot, Wide 1 and Macro .

The TG-870 not only excels in image quality but also in its widescreen video clips. Sport Cam Mode automatically adjusts to 16:9 aspect ratio and offers three other video formats, including Time Lapse Mode. A front-facing button lets you start recording video even when the camera is placed in its carrying case and secured to the wrist strap.
And Time Lapse Mode can be used to capture night scenes at shutter speeds of up to 4 seconds. Also, the new Live Composite mode lets you take creative shots and light painting while you watch in Live View.
