Q8F is the equivalent of this year’s Q8C curved, but with a flat screen. Samsung is expanding its QLED TV lineup in Europe as it seeks to strengthen its leadership position in the global premium TV market. The new 43-inch The Frame blends technology and art, allowing users to decorate any space, even a small one, to their own tastes.

Sang-ho Cho, vice president of Visual Display Division at Samsung Electronics“We’re excited to introduce the new Q8 version to European consumers who wanted to own a premium mid-range flat-screen TV. Our expanded QLED TV lineup as well as our 43-inch The Frame model showcases the power of today’s TVs through their innovative technology and sophisticated design.”.

Strengthening its leadership position in the premium TV market

With the launch of Q8F models, Samsung’s lineup of QLED TVs in Europe has increased to 14 models. Samsung’s Q9, Q8 and Q7 QLED TVs are the most versatile line of premium TVs, which now includes eight flat-screen models, and six curved-screen models, with diagonals ranging from 49 to 88 inches. The Q8F, in particular, is the first flat-screen TV in the QLED TV Q8 series.

Thanks to the use of the metal quantum dots technology Samsung QLED TVs reproduce the colors as precisely as possible, regardless of the brightness of the scene on the screen. This unique ability to reproduce 100% color volume is verified by the international certification association Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker VDE . Invisible Connection optical cable with a diameter of only 1.8 mm solves the problem of tangled wires forever. For mounting, we developed a special bracket that allows you to position the TV close to the wall, making it an integral part of the interior.

The new 43-inch The Frame is the latest addition to our 4K UHD picture-shaped interior TV series, which already includes 55- and 65-inch models. Art Mode allows you to use The Frame not only as a TV, but also as a home décor element, displaying fine art or personal photos in this mode. On The Frame Art Store app, users will soon be able to access nearly 1,000 famous works of fine art from the collections of world-renowned galleries and museums such as LUMAS, Saatchi Art, Sedition and Prado.

The Q8F models will be available immediately after the presentation at IFA 2017, and the new 43-inch The Frame model will be available in Europe starting in October, after which the TVs will go on sale in stages in other countries. The Q8F has a recommended retail price of €2,599 55-inch and €3,599 65-inch , while the 43-inch The Frame has a recommended retail price of €1,499.

Attracting IFA visitors’ attention to advanced HDR10 technology+

Samsung to showcase QLED and HDR10+ technology at conference co-hosted with research firm Insight Media. HDR10+ delivers unprecedented image quality to displays by automatically optimizing brightness, color and contrast for each scene. At the event, Samsung experts will detail how, thanks to dynamic HDR10+ metadata, each scene will be enhanced with vivid visual effects and colors, allowing viewers to enjoy the content exactly as the director intended.

Samsung will also discuss at the event its recent partnership with 20th Century Fox and Panasonic Corporation to create an open, royalty-free dynamic metadata platform for HDR10+. In January 2018, the three companies will form a licensing body and provide copyright-free metadata for content companies, ultra-high-definition TV manufacturers, Blu-ray players, set-top box manufacturers and single-chip system suppliers.

Chongsuk Chu, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Division, Samsung Electronics.“Our goal is to give our customers the best possible TV experience through state-of-the-art technology. Through our development of HDR10+ and QLED TV we aim to create richer, higher contrast images and bring these technologies and ultra-highlighted content to a wider audience.
