Roller saws test – time to shed your skin

This summer a well-known company specializing in products mainly cosmetics foot care, has released an interesting device – an electric roller file to remove rough skin on the feet – and very successfully “propyla” it, including on TV. But in the market of household and medical equipment such devices are also there, they are just not so widely advertised. We decided to conduct a kind of literacy and acquaint readers with these devices.

What’s so great about using a roller file??

We are not talking about manicure and pedicure kits with lots of attachments for treating cuticles, polishing nails, etc. .p. , there are many of these from a wide variety of manufacturers. But rollerscrollers just for getting your feet in order is a separate category. Most of them have only one function and work on usual “finger” batteries, and absolutely all of them are compact: you can easily take them with you on trips, holidays. At the time of printing this issue on the American market they were pretty small, almost all of them we have collected in our summary table “Market of electric roller files for pedicures”. How to use?

Dead skin particles on feet are best removed “dry”: no need to specially prepare your feet for the procedure: for example, to steam them or use any sort of ointment. Washing, moisturizing and nourishing with cosmetic products are indicated after the treatment. If necessary, you can rinse your feet and wipe them dry before using them. The device cannot be used in the presence of tumors, serious skin cracks, inflammations and wounds, it is forbidden to treat areas with moles, warts, papillomas, etc.p. For some chronic diseases e.g., diabetes, varicose veins, blood clotting problems, etc. . You should consult your doctor before using it. Then everything is simple: we switch the device on and move the roller in different directions on problem places – calluses, corns and other coarsened areas, don’t forget to put a newspaper or something else: “old wool”, that is dead epidermis will crumble from you, but the new will grow – well, you know – “clean, silky”!

“For a week, no less!”

Roller saws operate gently and carefully: when pressed on the work surface the speed of the roller is reduced – so there is no risk of injury. This fact at first stumped most approbantes: they began to call me and say, “this thing is slow”, “it doesn’t work, or it doesn’t suit me – I’m too thick-skinned”, etc.p. And this was true for all three devices we were testing, and the “girls” we had ranged in age from 19 to … let’s not say aloud! My first reaction was disappointment, my second reaction was disbelief: well, it can’t be! And so I sat down to study the instructions: yes, it is written that in neglected cases the peeling should be done daily for 7-10 days, and gradually “you should get good results, and then enough 1-2 preventive procedures a week”, and “no need to put pressure on the device”. A test is a test – we check both the devices’ performance and the manufacturers’ promises. And the girls were given the task of doing everything according to science, that is, according to the instructions. A week later I was catching letters of thanks in the mail! I quote: “Oh, I watched such a concert while I was sitting with this file – I did not notice how the hour passed! Thank you – finally found time for myself!” Or here’s another: “This week I’ve cleaned up not only my feet, but my mind as well. What a useful thing!”.

So, all tested copies work well and know their job, just do not rush! Sit down, relax, put on some music, a good movie, an audio course in Swedish – whatever you like – and off you go! Heels will be grateful, and brains, too, by the way.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING AN ELECTRIC ROLLER FILE

Abrasiveness of the roller. In some roller saws its surface is quite “gentle”, in others – more rough. There are models with 2-3 types of rollers with different degrees of hardness. Who likes what fits. The gentler surface roller can be used not only on the feet, but also on the elbows if necessary. The saw blade of the Panasonic epilator has a very gritty nozzle, its spraying is like that of professional pedicure sets sapphire, diamond . The higher the abrasiveness and speed, the more careful the procedure has to be.

Roller speed. In professional pedicure sets it can be in the range from 2600 to 12000 revolutions per minute, such fast work requires professional skills of the master of pedicure, to conduct the procedure with such a high-speed device can only be very carefully. The maximum speed of the two roller saws we tested – 1800 rpm and it is reduced if you press the roller on the skin, to avoid trauma to the skin.

Presence/absence of spare rollers in the set and the possibility/absence of such quickly buy them. And also the price. The most economic model in our test – AEG, and inexpensive, and has 4 interchangeable rollers further on “profitability” follows Gezatone – it has 2 rollers, though, they are just with different rigidity. It is difficult to buy spare ones, but during the test it turned out that the rollers of another saw that also took part in the test fit perfectly to this saw. It is difficult to buy a spare attachment to the Panasonic epilator, and in the complete set it is only one, however, it is designed for a long time – a year.

Extra features. For example, you can attach manicure and pedicure cone-shaped attachments to the Gezatone model, and the Panasonic epilator from our test – and in fact the very real skin care system with attachments for hair removal, shaving, body exfoliation.

Compact device – not a roller and file and not a complete set for pedicure manicure. Can be used at home or while traveling. Mineral-plated head rotates to treat feet like a salon pedicure, removing dead skin and leaving skin smooth and soft. Narrow, cone-shaped nozzle designed for hard-to-reach areas. The session home pedicure is recommended to do, pre-treated feet in warm water, which can be added softening components: baking soda, decoction of potatoes, herbal infusions – such as chamomile. After the treatment dry your feet, apply nourishing foot cream and put on socks for at least 10-15 minutes.
