Review of Casio Exilim EX-N1/EX-N10/EX-N20 compact digital cameras

The new N series in the family of compact cameras Casio Exilim consists of three models, in fact, completely identical inside, but differing only in appearance. However, the design is the essence and meaning of new products.

Casio Exilim EX-N1 compact digital camera

16.1 MP 26-130 5x 2.7″ $110

16.1 MP 26-130 5x 2.7″ $120

16.1 Megapixel 26-130 5x 2.7″ $120

The technical equipment of cameras corresponds to the lower budget level. Five times the zoom, fully automatic control, video recording with a frame size of 1280 × 720 pixels, a small 2.7-inch display with 230 thousand pixels, the usual 21 mm thick and weighs about 130 grams in the form of rounded plastic soap boxes.

The N1 comes in the usual blue, white, pink, black or red glossy plastic. The N10 is positioned as a “fashionable” one – beneath the glossy clear coating you can see the “quilted” texture in magenta, yellow or black. Finally, the higher-end N20 portrays a classic style with a soft brown, blue or red textured leather front.

With expensive premium compacts like Fujifilm XF1 novelties Casio, of course, can not compare. But within the budget class, they do stand out with a noticeable and unusual appearance. Another issue is that thrifty amateur photographers seem to be supposed to skimp on design for the sake of quality. Here everything is just the opposite.

I own a Casio Exilim EX-N10 and I can vouch for its image quality, ease of use, and standout features. The image quality is impressive for a compact camera, delivering sharp and vibrant photos. The 16.1-megapixel sensor captures plenty of detail, while the 5x optical zoom allows for decent close-ups. The camera’s user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate through the settings and modes, even for beginners. One standout feature is the wide range of shooting modes and effects, including HDR, panoramic mode, and various filters. The camera is lightweight and portable, perfect for everyday use. Overall, the EX-N10 offers a great balance between image quality, usability, and versatility.
