PROFESSIONAL SPEEDLIGHT FLASH FOR OPTIMUM SHOOTING IN ALL LIGHTING CONDITIONS

Designed to meet the needs of outdoor and studio professionals, the SB-5000 is an i-TTL Speedlight that is compatible with both FX- and DX-size DSLR cameras. This Speedlight, part of Nikon’s Creative Lighting System, can be mounted to the camera’s hot shoe, and can also be used as a wireless remote flash unit or as a slave flash.

This is the first Nikon Speedlight with wireless radio triggering, so the master and slave flashes can no longer be in line of sight, while also increasing reliability in bright sunlight. Nikon’s new built-in cooling system increases sequential triggering and eliminates unnecessary delays. It allows you to get good pictures in situations where you need ultra-fast shooting.

In addition, the flash has a guide number of 34.5 and covers a wide range of focal lengths, from 24 to 200mm for FX-format cameras 14mm with built-in wide-angle diffuser . Streamlined controls and menus ensure smooth operation and the compact shape and light weight make it easy to use on your camera. Three flash lighting patterns provide full coverage of the shooting area in a variety of conditions. The built-in wide-angle diffuser and reflector card, diffuser dome included , and additional Nikon color filters further enhance the photographer’s creative options.

CONTROL IN DIFFICULT SHOOTING CONDITIONS: IMPROVED WIRELESS CONTROL VIA RADIO SIGNAL

The SB-5000, designed for demanding shooting conditions, fully supports Nikon’s new radio control function in the Nikon Creative Lighting System. Now you can set up one or more flash units using the SB-5000 and the WR-R10 wireless remote controller.

The SB-5000’s ability to operate efficiently in demanding lighting conditions with remote control enables you to set up and control complex systems with a number of flash units. Up to six groups of SB-5000 flashes can be controlled in combination with the WR-R10 wireless remote controller. In addition, optical control is fully supported, which means that you can also use previous Speedlights when using multiple flash units.

A PROFESSIONAL SPEEDLIGHT FLASH THAT DOESN’T OVERHEAT, EVEN AFTER MANY CONSECUTIVE FIRING CYCLES

The SB-5000 can handle the highest demands, whether it is for action-packed race scenes or flash photography for the most artsy social occasions. To prevent overheating during fast shooting, the SB-5000 features Nikon’s new Speedlight flash cooling system. The world’s first* built-in temperature control system for compact strap-on flash units. Fast and reliable, it fires 120 flashes in 5 second increments or 84 flashes in 3 second increments without overheating. With the flash at full power, you can take over 100 shots in a row. The system suppresses heat production in the flash head, preventing it from overheating: the unit’s thermal protection has never been more reliable.

SEAMLESS INTEGRATION WITH NIKON’S PROVEN CREATIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM

The SB-5000 is based on Nikon’s i-TTL Intelligent TTL flash control system, which allows Nikon Speedlights to send important exposure information to CLS-compatible digital SLR cameras. The SB-5000 can be controlled by radio triggers, advanced wireless triggering, or by optical signals within line-of-sight.

Operational improvements include a unified flash control, extending the system’s control capabilities. You can now control or change the flash settings of the SB-5000 from the camera’s menu or on a computer with Camera Control Pro 2 software installed while the unit is attached to the camera body.

COMPACT BODY, SIMPLE CONTROLS

The SB-5000’s design has been redesigned for user-friendliness. This model is lighter than previous models, and its controls are intuitive and simple. You’ll notice the difference as soon as you strap the SB-5000 to your camera or pack it in your bag, as the compact flash itself weighs only 420g. The ergonomic control panel features a large, easy-to-read information screen.

Rotary multi selector and i-button for quick access to the most frequently used or personalized functions. For example, pressing the “i” button instantly displays key flash settings when shooting with one flash or advanced wireless control settings as a list. Like its predecessor, the SB-5000’s flash head can be lowered 7° or raised up to 90° and rotated 180° to the left or right.
