Nikon has announced the launch of the annual Nikon 2019 Photo Contest. Both professional and amateur photographers will be able to submit their works in one series and eight single categories. The authors of the most interesting and unusual shots will have a chance to win valuable prizes, including the current flagships of the company.

Acceptance for the photo contest will begin April 2 and end July 30, 2019. Anyone can participate, the main thing is:
* Works must be made by the author who submitted them to the contest, on Nikon equipment – necessarily after January 1, 2017
* Entries must have a “twist”, such as interesting lighting accents or unusual composition.
* Authors can either submit twelve photos in one category or split them up into different categories.
“A glimpse into the future” is one of the main categories of the upcoming contest. In this category authors will be able to share a photo essay on technology and innovation, or present their view of the future of the planet and things that surround us.
There will also be eight single categories:
* Landscape
* Travel
* Animalistics
* Life
* Sports
* Portrait
* Kids
* Love story.
Final winners will be chosen from among the photo works – three prizes in each category and one grand prize from all the finalists in single category. They will be announced no later than September 3, 2019. The grand prize will be a D850 professional DSLR, one of Nikon’s best creations, and the winners of the “Look into the Future” category will have a chance to win a new full-frame Z6 with FTZ adapter.
The partners of the competition – Epson, one of the biggest photo printer manufacturers, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines – will support two more categories with prizes. In the Life category, this is an A3+ Epson L1800 photo printer, and in the Travel category, two tickets to Amsterdam. Winners in other categories will receive equally nice and valuable awards, including top NIKKOR lenses and Speedlights.
More information about the contest and the rules can be found on the site.
I am curious to know if the 2019 Nikon Photo Contest is open to amateur photographers as well?
What are the specific criteria and guidelines for the 2019 Nikon Photo Contest? Is there an entry fee required? Can I submit multiple entries? Are there any age restrictions or specific thematic requirements?
