Nikon D800 SLR camera: it couldn’t be cooler?

Nikon announces a revolutionary new 36.3-megapixel FX-format digital SLR camera, the Nikon D800. The new Nikon D800 is designed to meet the future needs of photography and video today. It uses a variety of new technologies to achieve amazing depth and detail in stills and TV-quality video.

– ISO sensitivity 100-6400: Can be raised to an equivalent of 25,600 ISO units or lowered to an equivalent of 50 ISO units.

– Sequential shooting at 4 frames per second in FX/5 : 4 cropping mode. Shoot at 5 frames per second in 1.2x/DX.

– Full HD D-Movie recording in FX and DX Full HD 1080p at 30p, 25p and 24p.

– Full HD video recording in FX and DX 1080p formats at 30p, 25p and 24p using the D-video multi-format function. Maximum recording time is approx. 29 minutes and 59 seconds. Provides uncompressed HDMI output to external devices and high-precision audio control.

– Multi-CAM3500FX 51-point AF system: Selectable and customizable with 9, 21 or 51 focus points. Sensitivity down to -2 EV ISO 100, 20 °C .

– EXPEED 3 image-processing system with 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion and 16-bit image processing, resulting in brilliant color gradation.

– LCD monitor with 8 cm diagonal and 921 thousand pixels. Dots with automatic brightness adjustment, anti-reflective coating and a wide color range.

– 3D color matrix metering Ⅲ: 91K AE AF sensor. pixels and face recognition at all times.

– One hundred percent viewfinder coverage and three framing modes: 5 : 4, 1.2x and DX-format, with viewfinder masking.

– Quiet Shutter Mode: Ideal for precision photography with a quiet shutter thanks to the significant reduction in noise from the camera’s mirror return mechanism.

– Ultra-precise and reliable shutter: a standard rating of 200,000 shutter cycles with a minimum shutter speed of 1/8000 s and flash sync to 1/250 s.

– Media: CF and SD card slots.

– Built-in i-TTL Speedlight flash: HF/lead number is approx. 12, 24 mm lens coverage.

– Wear-resistant magnesium alloy body: Waterproof and dustproof.

– Supports wireless LAN and Ethernet networks with optional WT-4 wireless transmitter.
