Nikon introduces Nikon Z fc mirrorless camera

Nikon announces the Nikon Z fc mirrorless DX-format camera. It will be the first Z-series model with a retro design and modern features. The look of the Nikon Z fc is inspired by the famous Nikon FM2 film SLR camera, whose release in 1982 was a turning point in the history of Nikon. In addition to the camera, Nikon has released two new lenses that match it in style: a silver version of the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR and NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 SE.

Design inspired by the legendary camera.

FM2 influence is reflected in the design of the pentaprism and the harmonious combination of black and silver elements of the Nikon Z fc body. From this model, the new camera also inherits the circular shape of the electronic viewfinder EVF , the disc design, and the Nikon logo from the 1970s and 1980s. The camera body is made of durable magnesium alloy.

Easy operation and a wide range of creative possibilities.

Nikon Z fc camera is compact and lightweight. It’s easy to take with you everywhere. In doing so, it has excellent performance and shooting quality. Both experienced and novice mirrorless camera users will be comfortable working with it.

The top panel of the Nikon Z fc body has three dials and a small display with the aperture value. Use the dials to quickly and easily set shutter speed, exposure compensation and ISO speed. The i-button has also been retained for user convenience, so that shooting settings can be changed with a single press of the button, and the menu itself can be customized according to your preferences.

Nikon Z fc supports eye detection AF and animal detection AF when taking photos and videos. The Nikon Z 7II and Nikon Z 6II introduced these functions for the first time. Extra sharpness of eyes and faces is provided by the wide AF area L . You can also use continuous focus on the eyes of one of several people in the frame or a moving animal.

Sharp stills and movies can be taken even in low light, thanks to a wide ISO range of 100 to 51,200 . In addition, for the first time in the Z-series, the camera is equipped with a vari-angle screen, allowing you to shoot from above or below at a higher angle. When you rotate the screen, the camera automatically enters self-portrait mode, while the touch control lets you take one-touch selfies.

Advanced connectivity through SnapBridge version 2.8.

The SnapBridge app lets you transfer photos and videos from the camera to your smart device to share on social media. The latest version of the camera’s firmware can be downloaded through the app.

SnapBridge version 2.8 with a new interface now supports two auto-portrait modes: priority and background. In priority mode, the camera is connected only when the app is active, saving battery life. In the background, the connection is not interrupted and images are transmitted automatically even if the application is inactive.
