Today the stock of optics is a decisive factor for choosing a particular system. And the results of the survey confirm this: the majority of respondents expect the producers of photographic equipment to expand the lineup of lenses – 33% voted for this point. The votes of the remaining participants were almost equally divided between three options: improve video capabilities, reduce the size of cameras and optimize the performance of applications for interaction with smartphones.

Keeping up with current trends in the industry, Nikon plans to release 20 lenses from 2019 to 2021, including the exceptionally fast NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct. Of those planned for 2019, the NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S, which was the world’s first full-frame lens with a 14mm focal length and filter mounting support, and the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2, a versatile fast zoom lens, are already on sale.8 S.

Survey participants also noted which products they think are most promising in 2019. The results of the survey in the domestic market follow global trends in the transition of photography in the professional segment. Thus, 47% of respondents voted for professional cameras, 43% – for the semi-professional, and the least number of users considers the entry level cameras as a priority 8% . In addition, the majority are confident that the future belongs to full-frame cameras: 77% voted for cameras with a full-frame sensor, while only 22% voted for Crop.

Choosing between mirrorless and DSLR systems, the majority of survey participants chose the latter. Thus, for DSLRs voted 59% and 40% of those surveyed chose mirrorless cameras. Both of them could be seen live at the PHOTOFORUM 2019 exhibition in early April, where Nikon presented its stand. Guests were able to test the mirrorless Z 6 and Z 7 and their available lenses, as well as the company’s flagship in the professional SLR segment, the D850, along with the current line of NIKKOR F lenses.
