As expected, more information about Canon’s new compact camera has gone public. This suggests that the official announcement is just days away, and the camera could be unveiled before the end of this week. According to new specifications, the PowerShot SX740 HS compact will be similar in many ways to the existing 730 model.
The camera will have a 20.3 megapixel sensor that works in tandem with the DIGIC 8 image processor, as opposed to the DIGIC 6 found in the SX730. The maximum continuous shooting speed of the new camera will increase noticeably to 10 fps and 7.4 fps in servo AF mode. Another and likely the last significant difference in the new camera will be the ability to shoot 4K video
In terms of optics, the PowerShot SX740 HS will not undergo any changes. The camera will be equipped with the same lens as the SX730, with a focal length of 24-960mm Eq.35mm and a 40x optical zoom. The new camera will also get a similar 5 axis intelligent stabilization system to the SX730.
Framing will be done with a 3-inch tilting LCD screen that can tilt up 180 degrees for easy selfies. The PowerShot SX740 HS will use built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to quickly share captured images on social media and sync with your smartphone. The new compact will measure 110.1 x 63.8 x39.9mm, and weighs 299g. The camera will be available in two colors – black and silver
Can you please provide more information about the new specs and features of the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS? Additionally, it would be great if you could share some images as well. Thank you!
