New PIXMA MX494 multifunction home office printer ā€“ extensive connectivity

New York, America, February 3, 2015.Canon today expands its PIXMA inkjet printer range with the new PIXMA MX494, the successor to the PIXMA MX394, designed primarily for use in the home office. This compact multifunction inkjet printer features a full range of connectivity options, from Wi-Fi to the advanced PIXMA Cloud Link feature. With the release of this device, extensive connectivity becomes available in all PIXMA devices.

Canon PIXMA MX494 Printer

The MX494 is an affordable all-in-one device with print, copy, scan and fax functionality, an intuitive interface, built-in Wi-Fi and access to cloud resources.

The Wi-Fi module allows you to connect the printer from multiple PCs, laptops and mobile devices at home or in the office at the same time ā€“ for printing documents, PDFs, emails, presentations, school projects or photos.

The MX494 supports Apple AirPrintā„¢ and Google CloudPrintā„¢ as well as the free PIXMA Printing Solutions mobile apps available on the App Store and Google Play Store, making it incredibly easy to connect smartphones and tablets and print from them in any situation.

PIXMA Cloud Link enables computer-free printing of documents and images from cloud resources such as GoogleDriveā„¢, Dropboxā„¢, Facebookā„¢ and OneDriveā„¢. With the PIXMA Printing Solutions mobile app you can scan and save a JPEG or PDF file directly to the cloud or your mobile device or send it as an email attachment. MX494 is hotspot compatible so you can connect your smartphone or tablet even when you have no internet connection.

Superior Software

Like other PIXMA models, the new printer supports My Image Garden software, a platform that combines all Canon PIXMA printer applications into one intuitive interface and provides easy navigation through print and scan functions. The Easy-PhotoPrint+ program, available through the PIXMA Printing Solutions mobile app, contains postcard and calendar templates that you can add to your photos and print to give to friends and family.
