New York, America, February 5, 2013. Canon today announces the expansion of its PIXMA MX line of printers with four new MFPs. The PIXMA MX394, MX454, MX524, and MX924 replace the PIXMA MX374, MX434, MX514, and MX714/MX894 respectively. All new printers offer high performance and thoughtful home office software and include features such as printing, copying, scanning, faxing and automatic document filing.

Improved performance

The PIXMA MX924 has been specifically designed to improve productivity for home office users with two new front paper cassettes that hold up to 250 sheets of normal paper and 20 sheets of photo paper. New cassettes provide flexible switching for users who print both photos and documents, and are also convenient for printing bulky jobs. The PIXMA MX924 is faster than its predecessor with 10 ppm for color and 15 ppm for A4 black and white documents.

Quick and easy scanning and copying of multipage documents with the PIXMA MX394, MX454 and MX524 is made possible by the fully integrated 30-sheet Automatic Document Feeder ADF , and the PIXMA MX924 has an even more powerful 35-sheet ADF. The PIXMA MX524 and MX924 help users save paper and create professional looking double-sided documents quickly with Canon’s automatic double-sided printing technology. These models also feature a large color display with direct access to cloud services and a dual function panel for easy control of printing, copying, scanning and faxing directly from the printer.

Optional larger XL cartridges are now available for all Canon PIXMA MX series printers, enabling you to print more documents for less and without compromising on quality. In addition, the PIXMA MX924 is Canon’s first printer with an XXL black pigment ink cartridge option, which allows you to print up to 1,000 A4 pages without changing ink[1].

Sophisticated software

For the first time in the PIXMA MX office range Canon’s My Image Garden software provides easy navigation between print and scan functions. My Image Garden is a common platform that combines all of the software previously offered for Canon PIXMA printers into an intuitive interface. It includes features that make it easier to complete office tasks at home. This includes a scanning optimizer with auto scanning, photo and document scanning, and image blending functions. The new printers also have the ability to scan documents directly to cloud services like DropBox or Evernote, and can create password-protected PDF documents for increased security.

Connected devices

The PIXMA MX454, MX524 and MX924 offer a range of connectivity options, including support for smartphone and tablet printing via Canon Easy-PhotoPrint app for Android, iOS and Windows RT. Built-in Wi-Fi sharing is easy to set up for sharing between multiple computers in your home or small office. The MX524 and MX924 support PIXMA Cloud Link technology with access to Google Cloud Print, which lets you control printing of Google documents and Gmail email attachments JPEG or PDF files over the Internet. PIXMA Cloud Link also offers direct access to online photo albums and useful print templates such as calendars and letterheads. The PIXMA MX454, MX524 and MX924 have a USB port, which means you can scan PDF or JPG documents and faxes straight to your USB storage device.

The PIXMA MX394, MX454, MX524 and MX924 will be available in America in April 2013.
