Web-enabled printers with remote access, including cloud access

All three new models have Wi-Fi support which allows them to connect to web services using PIXMA Cloud Link. The PIXMA Printing Solutions app also opens up a whole new world of printing possibilities.

The new and improved PIXMA Cloud Link function allows easy access to social networking sites, photo hosting sites and cloud storage directly from the printer’s TFT display – without the need for a computer or other device. You can now easily print photos and documents from popular services such as Picasa, Flickr, DropBox, Evernote and social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter. PIXMA Cloud Link also gives you direct access to Canon’s CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM service with a range of creative projects.

The new PIXMA Printing Solutions app is supported on all three devices and lets you control your PIXMA printer from virtually anywhere in the world using a tablet or smartphone[1]. This app displays all the features available on the printer, so you can print photos from online albums, social media sites and cloud storage as if you were using the device’s TFT display. In addition, remote access to PIXMA Cloud Link allows you to check ink levels in real time and set up the printer manually over the internet.

Documents can be sent to print from iOS devices using Apple AirPrint. Newer models also support Google Cloud Print. The new “Hotspot Mode” feature even lets you print or scan from a connected device directly, without connecting to a Wi-Fi network.

Enhanced Features

Each model features an LCD color TFT display. The PIXMA MG5540 has a 6.2cm display, the PIXMA MG6440 has a 7.5cm display and the PIXMA MG7140 has an 8.8cm display with smart touch control for easy operation without a computer.

PIXMA MG6440 and MG7140 let you print photos from memory cards. They also use Wi-Fi PictBridge technology, making it easy to print photos directly from Wi-Fi PictBridge-enabled cameras without the need for cables. In addition, all three models have energy-saving features such as automatic double-sided printing and copying, as well as automatic power-on, which turns the printer on when it receives a print job.

Advanced printing for your home

Stylish design of the new models is complemented by separate ink tanks. Thanks to cartridges created with Canon’s FINE technology, you can print photos in lab quality and clear text on documents.

PIXMA MG5540 and MG6440 models have five separate ink tanks for fast, high-quality printing. The PIXMA MG5540 has an ISO ESAT print speed of approximately 12.2 ipm for black and white documents and 8.7 ipm for color documents.
