Magic without a mirror: Panasonic launches LUMIX DMC-G7 system camera with 4K video

New York, May 18, 2015 –

Panasonic has introduced a new mirrorless digital camera in its LUMIX G range, the DMC-G7. The new product, despite its compact size, has support for 4K video and 4K Photo function. The new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7 supports full 4K video recording at 3840×2160 pixels at 25p 50Hz or 24p in MP4 format. This high definition support made it possible to take photos at 25 fps with quality equivalent to 8 megapixels. In addition, there are also three new exclusive features designed to help you never miss a unique scene: 4K Pre-burst, 4K Burst Shooting, and 4K Burst Start/Stop : just take a still from 4K video, and the photo is ready.

The new Digital Live MOS sensor achieves high levels of light sensitivity and minimizes response time, and the Venus Engine image processor is even faster thanks to a quad-core CPU that enables high-speed signal processing. The new camera shoots at 8 fps AFS 6 fps AFC , so you can capture even fast-moving subjects.

New noise reduction system to enable higher light sensitivity, with a maximum value of ISO 25600. Noise reduction, smooth gradients, resolution and color reproduction were all fine-tuned, resulting in markedly improved image quality.

The contrast AF system of the DMC-G7 is fast and accurate, exchanging data between the camera and lens at 240 fps, and a host of advanced features, including Face/eye detection, Precision AF, Single AF and Low-light AF, ensure guaranteed results in all conditions.

The DMC-G7 features a new Live View OLED viewfinder with increased resolution to 2.36 million dots, a 16:9 aspect ratio and an entrainment of approximately 1.4× /0.7× 35mm camera equivalent with a 100% field of view. With built-in Wi-Fi, it’s possible to connect the camera to a smartphone or tablet, which will open even more opportunities to capture and publish photos.

The new LUMIX DMC-G7 universal hybrid mirrorless digital camera will retail tentatively in August 2015. The recommended price of new items has not yet been announced, but according to preliminary data, it is expected at around $ 800. USA.
