Panasonic Lumix DC-TS7/FT7, a compact camera for extreme conditions with electronic video viewfinder.

Panasonic has released the DC-TS7/FT7 compact camera with a protective body, a feature which is a built-in electronic video viewfinder. The camera is not afraid of strong bumps and falls from heights, it is protected against dirt, water and dust, and is also able to work in low temperatures.

Photo equipment

The Panasonic DC-TS7 features a 1/2.3″ BSI CMOS sensor with a maximum resolution of 20.4 megapixel. Sensor sensitivity ranges from 80 to 3200 ISO, expandable to ISO 6400. The mechanical-electronic shutter delivers shutter speeds from 4 to 1/16000s and the 49-point contrast auto-focus system lets you focus quickly and accurately on the subject of your choice. And the continuous shooting speed is 10 fps at full resolution and 5 fps in AF-C mode.

The lens used in the camera has a 4.6x optical zoom and 28mm to 128mm equivalent focal length with a maximum aperture of f/3.3 for 28mm and f/5.9 for 128mm. Minimum focus distance is 30 cm in normal mode and 5 cm in macro mode. Also features optical image stabilization which is great for capturing video or low light.

For the convenience of framing, the camera has a built-in screen and – for the first time for compact cameras – an electronic video viewfinder that makes it easy to frame in bright sunlight. Tempered glass screen measures 3 inches at 1 resolution.04 million. points. Video viewfinder size is 0.2 inches, magnification 2.53h 0.46x 35 mm eq and resolution of 1.17 mil. points. A dedicated button on the body enables quick switching between OSD and EVF modes.

Its protective properties make it the ideal companion for lovers of outdoor activities and extreme sports. Numerous seals prevent dust, sand, and water from getting inside, and the camera can withstand submersion to a depth of 31m. Rugged case protects the camera from hard knocks and falls from heights up to 2m and can withstand up to 102kg of pressure. In addition, the camera’s frost resistance makes it possible to take pictures at temperatures as low as -10C.

In addition to the anti-theft features, the camera has a built-in compass to help you stay on track, an altimeter to monitor data on climbs and descents, and an LED flash that can be used as a flashlight. The camera also has USB port that enables charging the built-in battery from external power sources.

An important feature is the built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.3 GHz .11b/g /n , which allows you to instantly share photos on social networks, arrange remote printing with a photo printer and remotely control the camera with your smartphone. Connects to your smartphone, also allows you to add geo-tagging to captured images.

Video capabilities include 4K 3840×2160 video shooting at 30 fps, Full-HD 1920×1080 video shooting at 60 fps, and slow-motion HD 1280×720 video shooting at 120 fps. In addition, when shooting video, Auto Wind Cut is available, which blocks out most of the noise created by the wind.

Photo functions include a variety of creative modes such as Creative Controls with 22 different filters, Creative Panorama for shooting vertical and horizontal panoramas with superimposed effects as well as 4K-Photo and Post Focus. Also available are three exclusive features to make photography easier: 4K Burst Shooting, 4K Burst Start Stop and 4K Pre-burst.

Price and availability

Panasonic Lumix DC-TS7/FT7 will be available early this summer for $450. The camera will be available in black, red and blue.
