Today’s smart home infrastructures often leave users confused. According to research2, users spend an average of 2.5 hours trying to set up their connected devices, and 22% of them don’t follow through and send them back to the store. Most often, the owners of smart home systems have to deal with devices and solutions from different manufacturers, which leads to additional complexities in the setting and management. They have to constantly switch between different apps, and it’s nearly impossible to achieve interoperability between devices from different manufacturers. Now, thanks to the Lenovo Link app, which can be installed on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, all compatible smart home components are controlled from a single interface.1 Smart appliances can be controlled individually or by grouping them together. You can create rules and schedules for individual appliances and groups of appliances to perform necessary actions at certain times.

The Lenovo Smart Home Essentials family of devices offers a starter smart home kit for first-time users that’s easy to set up and flexible. It includes the Lenovo Smart Plug smart switch, which allows you to remotely turn on and off any electrical appliances. Lenovo Smart Bulb allows not only to control the brightness of lighting, but also to adjust the color temperature through the app. Finally, with the Lenovo Smart Camera, you can watch what’s going on at home and even communicate with your family with the built-in speaker and wide-range microphone. Using the Lenovo Link app, you can control all devices in the Lenovo Smart Home Essentials series with verbal commands. This is made possible by Google Assistant™ or Amazon®Alexa® voice assistants, which are also installed on the Lenovo Smart Display.

With the Lenovo Smart Plug, you can remotely control almost any appliance. Turn lights, heaters, coffee makers and anything else you want to control from a distance. You can turn on the multicooker when you leave work to get a hot dinner for when you arrive home. Forgot to turn off your lights at home? Turn off lights using the Lenovo Link smartphone app.

And if your kids can’t hear you when you invite them to dinner, just turn off their game consoles or TV without stepping foot in the room. The device also offers additional overload protection, effectively absorbing sudden voltage spikes and preventing damage to electronics and appliances.

Lenovo Smart Bulb: lighting the future

With the Lenovo Smart Bulb, not only can you remotely turn lights on and off, but you can also adjust light color temperature and brightness simply by saying commands out loud. For example, going to bed, you can adjust the lighting in your bedroom to warmer tones so the sunset atmosphere helps you fall asleep faster.

The Lenovo Link app allows you to control multiple Lenovo Smart Bulbs simultaneously. Program the app to adjust the settings of multiple lamps at once or each one individually. Or set up automatic control by specifying times to turn on and off. The Lenovo Smart Bulb doesn’t require complicated installation and doesn’t need a hub to control it. Most conveniently, you can remotely turn on lights on your porch and inside your home using the Lenovo Link app, giving the impression that someone is home to prevent unwanted intrusions.

LenovoSmartCamera: Watch your home from anywhere in the world

The Lenovo Smart Camera helps make your home an even safer place by allowing you to watch what’s going on in and around it while you’re away. It gives you a high-resolution, wide-field-of-view FOV image, allowing you to see everything that’s going on in the room. With a special design and wide viewing angles of 355° horizontally and 120° vertically, and an infrared night mode that works up to 20 meters, you can watch what’s going on in your home at any time of day

Built-in speaker and microphone with two-way audio allows you to communicate with your family and even sing a lullaby to your baby, being hundreds or thousands of miles away from him and make sure he falls asleep. Keep an eye on children playing in your room while you’re at work, studying or doing chores in the kitchen. When dinner is ready, simply invite them to the table via the microphone – everyone within earshot of the speaker will hear your message.

Lenovo Link app: a single remote for everything

To control various devices, from lights to security cameras, smart home users have to constantly log in to various apps, and this can be a major inconvenience. With Lenovo Link, all compatible smart home components are accessible through one app on your smartphone or tablet. The app lets you remotely control all Lenovo Smart Home Essentials series devices. You can set schedules and form groups of devices. For example, you can program all the Lenovo Smart Bulb lights in your home to turn on and off at certain times, the coffee maker and toaster plugged in via the Lenovo Smart Plug, as well as the ventilation and heating systems to prepare your home for your arrival or bedtime. You can program a host of other routine operations throughout the day to make your life easier and more comfortable.

In addition, Lenovo Link allows you to control multiple compatible devices simultaneously. When you’re away from home, you can program your lights to turn on and off at certain times to prevent intruders from intruding. When getting ready for bed, you can set softer lighting on all Lenovo Smart Bulbs to help you relax and fall asleep faster.

And that’s just a few possible scenarios – users now have much more control over the various components of their smart homes. By controlling the Lenovo Smart Home Essentials series of devices from the kitchen, bedroom or living room, for example, you can see, hear and control every corner of your home. Combined with the Lenovo Link app, Lenovo Smart Home Essentials make smart homes easier and more convenient.
