PROGRAMS AND CLEANING QUALITY

AUTOMATIC MODE – orderly movement with gradual advancing. The robot cleans, using the navigation of the camera, on an automatically calculated path.

It’s interesting that even in a complicated space with lots of furniture and large objects on the floor, the robot really behaves “intelligently”: moving forward and not getting tangled up in our studio mess. When cleaning the same area for the second time it does it faster – evidently, it navigates by the route it has built once before. Quality of suction is very good, the robot was able to cope with the ordinary dirt before the first start we purposely did not clean the room for a week !

REMOVABLE MODE Random – the robot moves in any direction it chooses.

This mode was first tested in the kitchen 13 sq. m. , but there is furniture on legs, under which there is always more dirt accumulated than in the middle. Interestingly, the vacuum cleaner spent much more time under the furniture than in the center! At the same time it collected a lot of dirt, but we gave it an extra test: we scattered ground coffee on the floor by the way, it is a hard debris, because coffee beans contain a lot of oils and powder is dry . We checked if the robot will find this extra dirt with a diameter of about 40 cm. Result: found and cleaned it in three passes.

MAXIMUM – the robot starts cleaning in automatic mode, then switches to random and runs until the battery is completely empty.

Here we tested the time it would take the robot to fully use up the battery charge. Result: after 2 hours 15 minutes, that is, 135 minutes with a declared ability to work without recharging 160 minutes but this is in ideal conditions – in the absence of furniture and on a smooth floor, you can mention it , the robot found the base and stood up to recharge. But in the tests we had a new vacuum cleaner, so the result can be considered good. By the way, it also charged faster than 90 minutes and was usually ready to use again in an hour.

SPOT LOCAL DUSTING – the robot moves in a zigzag pattern over an area 1 meter in diameter.

The program is standard for many robots, our hero has coped with the task well – conducted an additional test with a scattered from the dust canister, for 7-8 passes quite a lot of debris was removed, moreover, compressed.

Test #5.

Wet mopping Mopping – cleaning with the “mop” set, duration 60 minutes, the robot’s movement is arbitrary.

Of course, it is not the wet cleaning that a wet vacuum cleaner offers, no detergent solution is fed and suctioned here. We put a cloth holder with a wet microfiber cloth on it that’s a mop in the body of the robot, and when it moves, it not only sucks up the garbage, but also wipes the floor. The wipe does not remove heavy soiling that needs to be scrubbed or scrubbed off, but it does a pretty good job of keeping it clean and more thoroughly removing the remaining dust. It seemed to us that it’s wise to run this program after one of the basic programs, automatic or random, and if you do it three times a week, you’ll rarely need to manually clean the floor. In addition, the wipe is used to remove fine dust from the floor, which is important for allergy sufferers. And also the cloth removes the flour, in normal mode, it can remain.

HIGH-CLIMBING FUNCTION Climb – the robot can climb over heights carpets, thresholds of over 2cm in a zig-zag motion.

The function is activated manually by pressing a button. We put a hard-to-clean obstacle on the floor: a soft double-layered bath mat. Height at the fold – 2.6 cm. Interestingly, a cat, which was previously afraid of the robot and wouldn’t go near it, volunteered to help in this test. When the cat sees the mat, it just lies there like a robot teasing: “Go ahead, I’m here, but you can’t get to me. Result: the robot climbed the obstacle in a second, the cat did not have time to bounce.

DIGITAL HIGH ALTITUDE.

The test was conducted on a round table. All robots in this price range have height sensors, but we still check to see how they work. No one has fallen yet, but not everyone behaves as interestingly as our iClebo Arte: it has driven up to different edges of the table a few times, then came to the middle of the table and stopped. Perhaps this behavior was prompted by the webcam mapping the room, and it was “reasonable”: why waste battery power when the situation is hopeless?

TRAPS AND OBSTACLES.

The most important thing for the robot is to behave properly in emergency situations, like when it is blocked by untidy wires or other obstacles. When the wheel locks and other problems, the iClebo Arte beeps and stops, which is right: no battery drain. But with the wires, it was easy: when you activate the function of overcoming obstacles, the robot simply “flops” over them. The problem code – blocked wheel, improper installation of the dust canister, overloading the suction mechanism, etc. – displayed.

CONTROL ERGONOMICS

Character-based control panel with intuitive pictogram icons to select programs and functions by touch button operation on widescreen display or remote control. Operation is simple and does not require frequent reference to the manual.

Audible signals accompany the installation of programs, the beginning and end of work, in case of problems and errors, which code appears on the display.

With the remote control you can correct the route of the robot and direct it to the dirt, but we do not use this function often: the vacuum cleaner cleans well without such help.

Programming of cleaning time can be done with a timer: you can set the start time and duration of cleaning. This function is useful if the user wants to clean in his/her absence.

NOISE LEVEL

Very low – 55dB. In contrast to many robots, this model does not clatter. Sound is soft and constant, does not disturb the conversation and is not annoying.

Home Appliances

Vacuum Cleaner. The flat plastic container that can be easily emptied by pressing a special button. Garbage disposal is quite hygienic, no hands get dirty, garbage does not spill out when you remove the container from the body of the robot, and the container can be washed directly under water, only before putting it back, you need to let it dry.

Cleaning the brushes. All three brushes are detachable and easy to clean.

Filter change/cleaning. Filter cassette is integrated into the dustbag and can be easily pulled out with the push of a lever. After cleaning or changing filters, reinsert the cassette. Filter can be cleaned dry using a regular vacuum cleaner or with a brush, and if you use the vacuum a lot the filter has to be changed every 3 to 4 months. Two spare filters included.

This model lacks some popular features, but their absence is almost unnoticeable. For example, the role of the “virtual wall” is played by a restricting tape, but it turned out to be very convenient to use: it is attached, for example, to a doorway, wall or furniture and separates a piece of the room, making it inaccessible to the robot. No rays and – conveniently – no extra batteries! – no extra batteries that very quickly “run out” in the “virtual walls”. No wall-to-wall mode, but in all modes except SPOT, it cleans these places as thoroughly and accurately as any other.
