How to take care of your refrigerator?

After the delivery of the refrigerator to the house, check its completeness, the availability of the warranty card and the quality of work. Your refrigerator must be handled with care during transportation. Your refrigerator should never be tilted or turned upside down during transportation. The point is that when tilted, the oil from the compressor can get into the discharge part of the circuit and will be drawn further away by the refrigerant flow after the start of operation. The result is capillary blockage and expensive repairs.

Refrigerators

After your refrigerator is delivered to your home, it needs to be installed.

Your refrigerator must not be located near radiators or close to a wall, since the condenser requires free airflow. The refrigerator must not be operated in a damp place with relative humidity of more than 80%, when the ceiling, walls, floor and objects in the room are covered with moisture.

It is best to install it in a dry, well-ventilated room, in the kitchen, placing it in the coolest place, out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources stove, radiators .

The most favorable ambient temperature for your refrigerator is +14 to +32° C. High outside temperatures cause the refrigerator to use more energy. If the room temperature is higher than +32°C, the temperature inside your refrigerator may not be low enough, and if it is below +14°C, the temperature inside the freezer may be too high, because the refrigerant generates less cold.

Danger of frozen food defrosting. When installing your refrigerator next to another refrigerator or freezer, remember that the minimum distance between them should be 2 centimeters. This will prevent the formation of water condensation.

Mains power supply voltage must match that of the refrigerator. Do not use electrical adapters and extension cords that are not designed for the food in your refrigerator.

You should not turn your refrigerator on immediately after installing it. Wash the appliance first, and only then turn it on. Food can be put in 2 hours after the refrigerator is put into operation.

Don’t overcharge the meter

Place your refrigerator in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation. The refrigerator should not be exposed to direct sunlight and should not be located near any heating sources radiators, etc. to prevent water condensation in the vaporator.d. .

Warm food should only be put in the refrigerator after it has cooled.

Defrost the refrigerator when ice builds up. A thick ice layer obstructs the cold transfer to the frozen food and therefore increases energy consumption.

Open the refrigerator door for as short a time as possible when placing and removing food. The shorter the time the door is open, the less ice will form on the refrigerator grills.

Yeah, don’t be a buzzkill!

To keep your refrigerator at the selected temperature at a constant level, the compressor in your refrigerator is turned on from time to time. The compressor is usually noisy when it’s running. As soon as the temperature reaches the set point, the noises are automatically reduced.

* Clicks can be heard when the thermostat turns the compressor on or off.

* A humming noise is inevitably produced when the compressor is running.

* A gurgling or bubbling noise occurs when the refrigerant is circulating through the tubes when the compressor is running. These sounds can be heard for some time even after the appliance is switched off.

It often happens that though the functional noises sound rather loud, their causes are not serious and can be eliminated rather easily.

Are the drawers correctly installed??

If not, they may be the cause of the noise. If necessary, place the boxes and other refrigerator accessories in a stable position.

Capacitor is in order?

Check if the condenser tube on the back wall of the refrigerator was deformed during unpacking and installing the appliance and therefore the body of the appliance is now touching the wall. In this case, bend the tube carefully so that it is in a free state.

Is the refrigerator level?

If the appliance is not level and touches a wall or nearby furniture, the noises can get worse. This phenomenon can be easily eliminated: level the appliance with the help of height-adjustable legs or put pads underneath the legs. Also move the appliance away from the wall or furniture.

Eat only as much as you put in?

Refrigerators

Modern refrigerator is designed in such a way that due to the free air circulation inside the refrigerating chamber, the different temperature is set in its different zones: from 0°C directly under the freezing chamber up to +7°C in the lower part of the refrigerator, usually separated by the glass.

For this reason, each food group has a specific place in the fridge.

Store fresh meat, poultry and fish for short-term storage preferably on the upper shelf. Cheese and butter can also be best kept in this area.

Fruit and vegetables are kept in the lower part of the fridge – in special containers under the glass.

Pickles and marinades keep well on the bottom shelf.

Wine, fruit, and mineral water are best preserved at +4 to +8°C in the special compartment on the door of the refrigerator. Bottles of spirits must be kept upright in the refrigerator

Food in the refrigerator dries out more quickly than in normal conditions, so store it in closed containers or cellophane bags meat in closed containers, vegetables in cellophane bags, cheese wrapped in parchment paper, liquids tightly corked .

Remember that foods like butter, cream, milk easily absorb extraneous odors, so do not place them in the refrigerator near foods that smell pungent herring, fish, etc. .. .

Keep pans well covered in the fridge. Hot saucepans should not be placed in the refrigerator because it is detrimental to the refrigerator’s function.

Proper placement of food in the refrigerator will allow you to ensure the best preservation of food, and preserve its flavor.

What do the asterisks on the dashboard tell you??

* Temperature in the low-temperature compartment of the refrigerator is not higher than -6 °C

** The temperature in the low-temperature compartment of the freezer should not exceed -12 °C

*** – temperature in the low-temperature chamber of the refrigerator not higher than -18°C. Chamber operation mode provides long-term storage of foods

**** – temperature in the low-temperature chamber of the refrigerator not higher than -24°C. The freezer operating mode allows food to be stored for long periods

The deeper you freeze, the better you get

Big appliances for the kitchen

The best way to keep food frozen for a long time is to freeze it to -18°C or lower. Color, flavor, appearance and vitamins are best preserved.

When freezing products the packaging is important since it must be air-tight, waterproof and smellfree. Polyethylene bags and aluminum foil are best for storing food.

It is important to take into account the organoleptic quality of the foodstuffs when freezing them.

Freeze only mature fruit, but be sure that it is firm and undamaged. Almost all vegetables are suitable for freezing, unless they have a high water content.

So that the vegetables retain their structure, smell, color and nutritional properties, it is recommended to blanch them in boiling water before freezing. Cleaned and washed in cold water, vegetables are dipped into boiling water and kept there for 1-3 minutes after boiling. Then cool it with cold water and dry it.

Meat can only be frozen if it is of very good quality. It is recommended to remove fat, bones and sinews and cut it into small flat pieces. Chicken, game or fish can be frozen whole or in portions after they have been cleaned and gutted.

Particular attention should be paid to the freezing of dairy products and eggs. For example, milk can only be frozen pasteurized and cream curdles when frozen. Eggs can’t stand freezing: their shells burst. But special recipes still allow you to cope with these problems and put food in storage for a long time. Only freeze cooked food that has been lightly salted and seasoned. Spices and aromatic herbs in the freezer give a strong taste and smell, so add them after defrosting.

Food placed in the freezer for freezing must not come into contact with that which has already been frozen. The best thing to do is to freeze all the food in the freezer and put it into the fridge for a while.

When freezing small quantities up to 1-2 kilograms it is possible not to change the position of the thermostat, and if there is a lot of food in advance usually a day in advance the thermostat is set to maximum and a day after placing the food in the freezer it returns to its previous position.

Manual defrosting: you can defrost faster with a hair dryer

Refrigerators

Modern refrigerators are made with all consumer demands in mind: from the highest demands on design, technical equipment and ease of use to the minimum effort and time required to take care of them.

But you should still clean your fridge periodically to avoid unpleasant smells from it and to best preserve the inside surface.

Before you clean your refrigerator, unplug it from the power supply and free it from food.

If a thick layer of ice has formed inside the freezer, let it thaw completely. In order to speed up the defrosting process you can use a hair dryer or a heater with an air blast. Make sure that the air jet is evenly distributed and flows into the interior of the freezer from the outside. Never place heating appliances inside the chamber itself.

Never use sharp and hard objects to remove snow “fur coat” or ice, otherwise it is possible to damage walls of evaporator and damage refrigerant circulation system. Getting refrigerant in your eyes when you throw it out can cause serious injury.

To wash the interior of your refrigerator except for the door seal , use lukewarm water and a mild disinfectant. Never use any powders or acids, such as chemical solvents. The door seal should be washed with clean water and then wiped dry.

It is advisable to wash the evaporator and shelves with warm water and then wipe dry.

Make sure water does not get into the temperature switch or the interior lighting system, this could damage your refrigerator.

Wash the outside surfaces of the refrigerator cabinet and doors with a little soapy water. Articles that are too dirty can be cleaned with tooth powder and ammonia in a 2:1 proportion or with a special product in an aerosol can.

After cleaning your refrigerator, wipe the outside dry with a soft cloth or flannel to prevent streaks and stains on the enamel.
