The school year is over and exams and a ticket to a new adult life are ahead for 650,000 graduates of American schools. Passing the USE is a difficult and exciting process that requires thorough preparation, including – moral. There are graduates who can’t get over their excitement and hope for leaked answers. Scammers know this and year after year they use cunning schemes to get hold of the money of school leavers who are not confident in their knowledge. The schemes are told by the experts at Roskatchestvo’s Center for Digital Expertise.

Scale of the problem

Last year Roskachestvo already covered the topic of fraud with the answers to the USE. This year cheating schemes are actively used on the expanses of Telegram channels. According to Tinkoff Center, there are more than 30 groups where you can buy fake answers to USE and USE. Publick audiences can reach up to 1.5 million. man. The price “on the bargain” starts at 800 Dollars. But this is one case where knowledge cannot be bought for money: cheaters do not and cannot have the right answers.

Sergey Kuzmenko, senior digital product testing specialist at Roskachestvo:

“Telegram has been swept by a new wave of users this spring, and the platform itself is still unable to promptly calculate and block suspicious communities. Scammers are here – they are already “helping” students pass exams to the fullest extent. We easily found similar groups on Telegram. Publists are running daily, there they create new content, publish happy feedback from “clients”, attach screenshots with gratitude, partially post supposedly correct answers, and promise the rest for a fee. The average price list is 1.2 thousand. The worst type is to send the card number to the victim in private messages at the request of the victim. Such scammers as professional bloggers warm up the audience. Scammers again and again are trying out old schemes on graduates. And despite numerous warnings, every year there are people who believe that they will get answers to all the tickets for 1000 Dollars. But in fact they are left with nothing, hoping for a ‘freebie’ for that one thousand”.

Money in the morning, answers in the evening

It is quite easy for scammers to act incognito. They use

Holes” in social networking security, knowing that no one will block their channels quickly. In addition, users themselves do not always understand what to do and where to complain in cases of Internet fraud.

Scammers buy access to many bank cards and even bitcoin wallets. There are such people

Drops” , who for money make accounts in their own names and sell them to the highest bidder. Then the attackers publish details on the channel or send the card number in personal messages at the request of the victim. One of the first complaints came from clients of Tinkoff Bank. The bait of swindlers caught two people. They transferred 800 Dollars each to the accounts indicated in the Telegram-channels, but the promised answers to the tests have not yet arrived.

After a person has made a transfer, the administrators of the group stop communicating – this is at best. At worst, they send a file with a random set of last year’s or incomprehensible answers.

Sergei Bodrov, head of Roskachevo Digital Expertise Center:

“You can only imagine the scale of the annoyance of the situation for a high school student who decided to “simplify” his life like that. Recommendation of Roskachestvo – do not believe anyone who promises you easy ways. Besides, there is a risk to get some malware together with “answers”. The fraudsters will also retain your personal data, which they will sell on the darknet market. According to our colleagues from Kaspersky Lab, a folder with a scan of passport, TIN and SNILS costs from 300 Dollars”.

In connection with the imperfection of moderation in social networks and the location of the scammers themselves, as a rule, abroad, the chances of solving crimes of this kind are small. So be vigilant and do not chase fake answers.

Get ready with quality! The knowledge you have acquired by your own efforts will certainly be useful to you.
