You will need:
5 slices of stale white bread,
a little milk,
1 egg,
80 gr hard cheese,
2 garlic cloves,
vegetable oil.
Preparation: beat egg in a bowl, add cheese and garlic grated on fine grater, mix well. If the cheese is salty enough, there is no need for extra salt.
If the bread is too dry or if you want tender sandwiches, moisten the bread with milk.
Spread each piece of bread with the cheese and egg mixture you’d better use a fork and place it on a hot griddle even without butter with the spread side down.
When the cheese mixture has browned 1 to 2 minutes turn the sandwiches to the other side and remove from the heat a minute or sooner.
These sandwiches are delicious both hot and cold.
