Updated firmware makes the Sony α77 and α65 Translucent Mirror cameras even more functional and user-friendly.
Available as a free download from March 29, 2012, software version 1.05 adds several significant improvements to the α77 and α65. In addition to shorter response times, this software makes it easier to use the wide range of A-mount lenses from Carl Zeiss and Sony.
Shadow and aberration compensation
Both models can now automatically correct for vignetting, lateral chromatic aberration and distortion distortion with 11 A-mount lenses, including the six models shown below:

Reduced response time
After a number of improvements, both cameras are even easier to use and allow for sharper, faster response times.
- Auto Preview now faster and without “processing” message
- On/off time is significantly reduced
- Improved response time of the front/rear rotary switch
Autofocus and level of clarity
Improved autofocus in scenes where there is a significant difference in contrast between subjects applies to the SLT-A77 only .
