Adding phase detection pixels to the X-Trans CMOS II Sensor lets you use the “digital split image” function for more precise manual focusing. Looking at the split image displayed on the LCD monitor or electronic viewfinder, you can manually adjust the focus, which is especially useful when working with an open aperture or using macro photography.
