Fujifilm releases FUJINON XF16mm F1.4 R WR – bright wide angle lens for landscape, portrait, street and macro photography

FUJIFILM Corporation is proud to introduce the new FUJINON XF16mm F1 lens.4 R WR, which will join the lineup of X-series interchangeable lenses in mid-May 2015. This 16mm fixed focal length lens 24mm in 35mm format equivalent offers a wide field of view and high optical performance. With a maximum aperture number of F1.4 Take high quality photos even in low light, and use the minimum working distance of 15cm for macro with beautiful bokeh effect. Snapshot capability is further enhanced by high-speed autofocus, dust- and splash-proof lens body, and low-frost down to -10°C and high portability thanks to its compact size.

The optical design incorporates two aspherical lenses and two extra-low dispersion glass lenses to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations for brilliant, high-resolution images, even at the maximum F1 aperture.4. Image quality is further enhanced by Fujifilm’s unique HT-EBC coating on all lens elements and Nano GI coating on the back of the G1 lens. New Nano GI coating, which changes the index of refraction between glass and air, reduces glare and iridescent ghosting when light falls at an angle.

The XF16mm F1 Special Design.4 R WR neutralizes temperature differences between the exterior and interior of the lens to minimize its effects on optical elements, and the electronics used are capable of operating at temperatures as low as -10 °C.
