The PowerShot G1 X Mark II is powered by Canonā€™s large 1.5in CMOS sensor. More than twice the image area of conventional 1-inch sensors on the competition, and with shallow depth of field capabilities comparable to an APS-C DSLR sensor, itā€™s perfect for portraiture and macrophotography.

New sensor configuration gives full use of the lensā€™ image circle for either normal 3:2 aspect ratio at 12.8Mpix or 4:3 at 13.1Mpix. It makes it possible to change the composition creatively and easily integrate new pictures into any DSLR editing system.

Up to 4.5 times the pixels of its previous model, PowerShot G16. It increases its light sensitivity and reduces digital noise for better low-light performance. Larger pixel size also gives you more dynamic range, with the camera capturing better detail in very bright and shadowy areas.

Smooth control knob can also be used to further adjust the focus distance after autofocus.

The 7.5 cm 3-inch capacitive touch screen LCD makes framing easy and gives photographers more control over their shots. High-resolution screen displays images in the sRGB color space, identical to the range of colors recorded and processed, so you can shoot and view images with confidence and accuracy.
