Canon Europe announces the PowerShot G1 X Mark III, the new flagship member of the PowerShot G family. Taking up the baton from the G1 X Mark II, the model combines Canon EOS SLR-level image quality with the operability and compact size of the PowerShot series. High speed and superb quality

Enthusiastic photographers appreciate its DSLR-quality and compact size, which is essential if you donā€™t want to draw attention to yourself and your subjects. A sensor similar to that fitted to the EOS 80D, enabling shooting at ISO 100 up to 25,600 ā€“ wonā€™t let you down even in twilight. The PowerShot G1 X Mark III delivers great results both indoors, where high contrast demands sharp details with minimal visual noise, and outdoors, where you often have to photograph scenes with low contrast, like a foggy morning. New EOS-1D X Mark II models pass on the functions of Auto Brightness Correction and Diffraction Correction, requiring minimal post-processing.

Built-in 3x zoom lens 24-72mm in 35mm equiv. and a minimum focus distance of just 10cm allows you to work in a wide range of genres, from portraits to macro photography. APS-C sensor and f/2 wide aperture.8-5.6 achieves a shallow depth of field. The new camera lens was designed specifically for this sensor, so it is able to neutralize unwanted artifacts in photos, such as glare. A nine-bladed aperture diaphragm makes it possible to blur the background beautifully and create a beautiful bokeh: an effect that helps blur out excessively colorful backgrounds and thereby highlight the subject.

The PowerShot G1 X Mark III adds Dual Pixel CMOS AF ā€“ fast, accurate autofocus technology for the first compact camera that never misses a shot. IS system compensates for 4-stop exposure and smooths out unintentional camera movements, helping you shoot with confidence, even in low light or busy environments such as a crowded street festival or music festival. Dual Pixel CMOS AF brings the lens into focus in as little as 0.09 seconds. The responsiveness, speed and reliability of this technology are indispensable for those who like to photograph sudden, vivid moments.

At just 399g the PowerShot G1 X Mark III is 14.8mm thinner and about 19% smaller than the G1X Mark II: invaluable for those who like to travel or are used to carrying multiple cameras around. Photographers familiar with Canon EOS cameras appreciate the responsiveness and ease of use of the PowerShot G1 X Mark III.
