In recent years, documentary production and sports broadcasting companies have begun to adopt equipment that supports 8K. New format offers ultra-high resolution video to viewers around the world. And not surprisingly, the result has been a demand for basic technology and equipment optimized for 8K signal input, transmission and output. In response to broadcastersā€™ needs and increasing demand for higher-quality video, Canon has expanded its broadcast lens range with two new broadcast lenses supporting super-resolution 8K.

UHD-DIGISUPER 51

UHD DIGISUPER 51 Lens coupled with 8K broadcast cameras delivers immense image quality from center to edge, across the entire frame. The UHD DIGISUPER 51, Canonā€™s first off-stage 8K lens, has a focal length range of 15.5-790 mm, the longest focal length in its class, and a 51x zoom, the worldā€™s largest. The new model ergonomically follows closely the existing out-of-studio zoom lenses for 4K cameras with 2/3-inch sensors. This provides an easy transition from 4K video production to 8K work, while allowing you to maintain a familiar shooting style. The new lens allows you to capture realistic, high-definition video in a variety of situations, including indoor and outdoor sports broadcasts, as well as footage from a medium-sized mobile TV station.

7Ɨ10.7 KAS S

7Ɨ10 lens.7 KAS S has a focal range of 10.7-75 mm and is the worldā€™s first portable zoom lens for broadcast 8K cameras with a 7x zoom. Provides high resolution and contrast from the center of the image to the edges and has a familiar 8K design that makes it easy to work with. You can quickly switch to the new lens if you were previously using portable zoom lenses for 4K cameras with 2/3-inch sensors. New lens gives operators the freedom to shoot from the shoulder and move equipment quickly. This is true for a wide variety of video production scenarios, from documentaries and event videography to television broadcasting.
