Canon has announced the development of the XEED 4K5020Z projector, which is even brighter and easier to operate

As Canon announced today, the success of the industry flagship XEED 4K5020Z, launched in December 2018., prompted it to undertake the development of an improved model of this 4K laser projector, which will feature improved image brightness and color fidelity. The new version is part of Canonā€™s long term commitment to support systems integrators working on entertainment and arts projects. The advanced projector with additional media ports is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2019. The XEED 4K5020Z will make its first presentation during ISE 2019 at Canonā€™s booth N-30 in Hall 1 .

The enhanced compact 4K laser LCOS projector uses a new housing, only recently released by Canon, and will feature increased brightness compared to the previous model. The new device will have virtually no mounting restrictions: the projector is capable of displaying the image in both landscape and portrait orientation, and can easily be mounted at any angle. The simple hub mount is compatible with seven Canon interchangeable lenses, including the latest RS-SL07RST 4K, and the motor supports a 1.76x zoom and a 73% vertical shift with minimal backlighting and field curvature. This makes it easy to set up for maximum image quality.

Todayā€™s art projects and entertainment systems using projectors are getting more popular, and the conditions of their installation are getting more complicated. Fortunately, the innovative technologies used in Canonā€™s new projector models enable the playback of 4K content. The companyā€™s devices use a minimum of technical resources, do not sacrifice quality and do not limit their applications. In particular, the recently launched XEED 4K5020Z is a great investment: it offers outstanding brightness, quality and depth of field at a true 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels. In development now

the improved version of this model will have two additional ports for uncompressed 10-bit video in 4K 60p RGB 4:4:4 format. This will make the projector ideal for both entertainment systems and design or CAD training in university classrooms.

Canonā€™s edge blending system, already used in the recently launched XEED 4K5020Z, makes it easy to combine images from different projectors to create large format screens, project onto domed surfaces and perform complex artistic designs. The new laser projector will operate virtually maintenance free around the clock, making it even more convenient and cost effective.

Colin Boyle, European Marketing Specialist, Canon Europe, comments: ā€œISE will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase a range of new and established technologies to the public. It also allows our clients, partners and other visitors to look at innovative solutions, which are now being prepared for the market. The new model will be a welcome addition to the expansive family of 4K projectors. Weā€™re excited to gather valuable feedback about it at ISE 2019.ā€.
