The BBC has reported that Whirlpool is recalling half a million Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines in the UK and Ireland because they can spontaneously combust.
Whirlpool says it’s about washing machines bought after 2014.
As far as is known, Whirlpool washing machines caused 79 fires, but the damage from each was small and no one was hurt.
Whirlpool vice president apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers, especially during the Christmas season.
