Washing powders: what washes and what corrodes?

Every fabric has its own detergent

Washing machine Ardo FLSN 103 LW

The instructions for washing machines do not specify the amount of powder needed to wash a particular amount of laundry. This is because there are different types of fabrics, different degrees of soiling, and most importantly, completely different concentrations and properties of powders. And the correct amount of detergent should be listed on the detergent package.

All detergents you choose for your washing machine should be designed for automatic washing machines. In turn, all detergents are divided into 4 types:

for white fabrics contain oxygen-based bleaching agents and optical brighteners

for colored fabrics

For wool and silk

for dark and black fabrics usually liquid products .

You can also use a variety of rinse aid as a conditioner. It is best to refrain from adding bleach, stain removers, and powder enhancers unless you are very familiar with these kinds of products.

Dried detergents can be used in machines with a spot remover function. But note that modern powders in combination with a quality washing machine give excellent washing results and, if necessary, bleach, without adding additional agents.

We remind you that washing powders or liquid detergents for washing machines should be bought only in reliable places due to the appearance of a large number of fakes on the market, which, in turn, are the reason for the failure of many washing machines or, at least, poor washing results.

All buyers are advised to pay attention to the composition and purpose of detergents when choosing them, and to use them only according to the instructions on the package.

A housewife’s tip

To keep your machine in good working order for a long time, it is recommended:

1. Wash everything in special bags: this prevents small objects from getting between the tank and the drum small items, metal parts buttons, for example that can cause scratches or other damage, etc. .p. .

2. Use only original detergents and avoid fakes which often contain chlorine and can also cause excessive foaming.

3. Add fabric softeners, e.g. CALGON, or descale the machine every six months or so, and use a descaler e.g. Antiscale for automatic machines .

4. Occasionally clean the lint filter most washing machines have one .

5. Be sure to follow the instructions in the instruction manual.

6. Bent or clogged drain hose .

What is always forbidden?

This is usually mentioned in the package directions, but let’s review the instructions to reinforce the lesson. These are examples where the appliances are defenseless against your mistakes.

Never pour hand-washing detergent into a trommel machine. Although it is cheaper, and more often found in stores. If you are capable of such mistakes, you are shown an activator machine, it is much more forgiving of both powders and your mistakes. Never reset the programs on the control panel when the machine has already started to wash. There is a chance, however small, of confusing the automatics and over-regulating them.
