These SSDs are based on 64-layer BiCS FLASH™ TLC 3D memory 3 data bits per cell and have a PCIe® Gen3 x4 4 lanes interface. They deliver sequential read performance of up to 2,700 megabytes per second MB/s and sequential write performance of up to 895 MB/s with low power consumption in active mode 7 watts . With one full drive write per day [3] DWPD , the XD5 Series SSD can write nearly four terabytes TB of random data every day for five years with consistent performance levels. Read and write random access performance of 250,000 and 21,000 input/output operations per second IOPS , respectively, making the XD5 line a reliable solution for read-intensive or transaction-intensive workloads.

XD5 Series in 2.5-inch form factor expands Toshiba’s rich lineup of data center SSDs and complements our older M Form Factor products.2 22110 1,920 gigabytes GB and 3,840 GB capacity. Flash memory and controllers used in the XD5 drive provide high reliability, data protection, end-to-end error detection and power loss protection. Equipped with a five-year limited warranty.

“The launch of the new XD5 Series to expand our rich NVMe drive portfolio demonstrates Toshiba Memory’s commitment to offering cloud data centers a broad range of solutions for every application, including highly reliable, low power systems that deliver consistent performance,” said Paul Rowan, Vice President of Solid State Drives, Toshiba Memory Europe.

Toshiba Memory’s PCIe NVMe SSDs are designed for a variety of workload profiles in enterprise systems and data centers and are available in the XD5, CD5 and CM5 series to help customers build the storage infrastructure they need and make the most of flash-based storage devices.

Toshiba Memory remains an industry leader in providing innovative flash memory solutions for the emerging data center environment and is committed to long-term customer partnerships.
