The Toshiba BDX2100KR is a solid, quality device that does a great job with its title function as a Blu-ray disc player. Picture quality is especially important here, where thanks to the fine calibration of the BDX2100KR will prove excellent with any television. Sound is more dependent on the receiver, as the source digitally outputs a stream of data processed through a standard protocol, and itself has little effect here.

In terms of multimedia is also fine, most modern Blu-ray players are limited to exactly the same functionality. Of course, it would be nice to see 3D support, an additional USB port or DLNA compatibility in this model, but then it would cost a little more.

And are these functions highly demanded nowadays, especially in our country?? I donā€™t think itā€™s as wide as we would like it to be. That is why the BDX2100KR is a worthy addition to the Regza set and we can recommend it without any reservations.

Design Features

After suffering the death of HD DVD format, so comprehensively supported by Toshiba strategists, the company began to develop players for the culprit of his defeat, namely Blu-ray. In this context, it is not surprising that the development work is progressing so far without much enthusiasm. The first 2000 model was aimed at the budget sector and did not show to the users any technological revelations.

This one is even more simplified version and we shouldnā€™t expect anything extraordinary from it. However, the companyā€™s reputation for many years has been established so that hardly anyone can recall a single bad player with Toshiba logo. The quality of the product is a much more important factor than the equipment with additional functions, which will be used by one person in a hundred at best, and even that is rare.

But the basic values, namely the image, sound, reliability and ergonomics always come first and are absolutely irreplaceable. We should not forget about the Regza series televisions, which have been a well-deserved success. They long ago asked for HD player because matrixes are already available only for high resolution.

The design of the device is original, thanks to the faceted front panel it does not look like most of its colleagues. Toshiba is similar to them with an extremely thin housing, in the best of modern canons. Set of ports is ascetic, but really you donā€™t need anything except HDMI and LAN.

The composite video, coaxial and stereo audio outputs are more a tribute to tradition. A USB port on the front is convenient for playing multimedia files from flash drives. Minus is the lack of one on the back, coupled with the denial of built-in memory. To use the BD-Live option! You will have to sacrifice a little bit of decorativeness.

Service functions

Both hardware and functionality are on the basic level, i.e. all elements required to work with Blu-ray are present. LAN port is designed to receive BD-Live data only!, The BDX2100KR cannot act as a network player. Of course, we are not talking about 3D, the HDMI port is limited to version 1.3a. In this regard, looks like a big bonus advanced multimedia capabilities, via USB playback almost all current formats, including popular, but still not become mandatory MKV.

Old DVDs look good converted to 1080p, but the lack of Resolution+ technology, so brilliant in Toshiba DVD players, does not go unnoticed. But the device offers simply unprecedented in its price range a set of video calibration parameters, which is extremely important for its optimal adaptation to any TV. The loading of the device is fast enough, menus are beautiful and reasonably structured, there should be no problems with mastering the remote control.

Is the Toshiba BDX2100KR Video Player worth investing in? Iā€™m considering purchasing it, but I want to know if it performs well and delivers good video quality before making a decision. Has anyone tried it and can share their experience with this particular model?
