Test Starwind SPM5183 planetary mixer
The mixer was hard at work in the kitchen, making different sweets every day. Whipped egg whites and cream, kneaded cheesecake and marshmallow dough, made custard dough for profiteroles, sponge cake, made dough for dumplings. In addition, to the testing joined our acquaintance, who by happy coincidence recently bought the same mixer, and in his Instagram actively shared his impressions with all his friends.
Our conclusions:
- The Starwind SPM5183 is suitable for making large quantities of dough or cream. For example, it whips three or more egg whites perfectly, but it can’t see one or two.
- It works very quietly in comparison with other models . No need to leave the kitchen, you can go about your business in peace. For example, you can slice apples in peace, while the batter is being whipped for marshmallow.
- Thanks to the suction cups stands firmly on the countertop, even when kneading a kilogram of steep dough.
- The mixer is powerful, it needed to turn on the sixth speed only for whipping egg white, all kinds of dough are mixed perfectly on the second or third speed.
- You have to “help” a little when mixing large amounts of dough: stop and use a spatula to mix the ingredients around the sides and the bottom of the bowl.
- It is better to stop the mixer to add ingredients. “Window” in the lid is, but you need to get used to the fact that the products fall into the mixture, not on the rotating nozzle.
- You can not see what speed the mixer is running. But this is a feature of all planetary mixers in this price group.
- Although the manufacturer does not recommend mixing hot mixtures, the mixer copes well with custard dough, and it is hot.
- The time cycle is long enough for most tasks. Many times the mixer worked longer than six minutes, didn’t shut down or overheat.
- Nozzles and bowl are easy to care for: everything can be cleaned quickly with warm water and dishwashing detergent.
The best thing: any planetary mixer frees your hands. It doesn’t do the job faster than you do. It does it for you. It is not necessary to stand and hold the mixer the whole time the ingredients are mixed. You are free the whole time the Starwind SPM518 is spinning. And it’s handy.
After the dough, it’s hard to readjust and hold a regular mixer, it immediately feels like that time could have been used for other things.
