Panasonic has debuted the LX Series expansion, the compact LUMIX DMC-LX15, which features a 20MP 1-inch MOS sensor and the new LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX F1 prime lens.4, with support for 4K video recording and the widest range of creative possibilities.

On the LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX F1 lens.4-2.8 24-72mm in 35mm equivalent Aperture ring lets you take full advantage of the benefits of this fast lens and the minimum focus distance of 3cm gives you great macro capabilities.

The combination of the 1″ High Sensitivity MOS sensor and Venus Engine image processor achieves high light sensitivity up to ISO 12800, while maintaining excellent image quality not typically found in compact digital cameras.

In addition, the LUMIX LX15 boasts an extremely fast and accurate focusing system of approximately 0.12 seconds, achieved by DFD Depth from Defocus technology, which determines the distance to the subject by comparing two images taken at different sharpness at speeds of up to 240 fps – with the higher the focal length, the faster the focusing speed. The LUMIX LX15 also features high continuous shooting speeds of 10 fps AFS 6 fps AFC , and touch controls let you quickly focus on your subject and release the shutter with one touch – no more missing a unique shot.

LUMIX LX15 supports QFHD 4K, 3840×2160 30p 25 p 50Hz or 24p video capture in MP4 format. 4K technology makes 4K Photo and related functions such as Focus Stacking, Post Focus, Light Composition and 4K Live Cropping possible. Support for RAW format with in-camera processing and such functions as Creative Control, Creative Panorama and Photostyle open up a wide range of creative possibilities.

Rear-mounted 1,040,000-dot LCD pivots 180° up and down. The camera has a built-in aluminum lens cap, control ring and switch – not only are they easy to use, but they go well with the metal exterior.
