Borrow to shoot when others put their hands down

When the weather turns nasty and it starts to rain, most compact and pseudo-mirror camera users find themselves stashing them in their bags and pockets – but not the S1. The waterproof body lets you take great shots even when it’s raining or dusty, so unlike other photographers, you won’t miss a shot. For lovers of candid photography, the built-in lens and more than 70 lens protectors save you from worrying about the weather, time of year or shooting conditions.

High-quality, versatile lens

The S1 is equipped with the latest Fujinon lens with 50x optical zoom equivalent to 24 – 1200 mm *2 , an impressive F2 aperture range.8 – F5.6 and 3 steps *3 Image stabilization in the lens itself. The wide zoom range and optional super macro mode letting users shoot subjects as close as 1 cm offer a variety of shooting styles, from wide-angle panoramas to telephoto zooms.

2 aspherical and 4 non-dispersive lenses within a 13-element design in 11 groups, enabling the highest quality shooting. In addition, aberration is kept to a minimum, while sharpness from the center to the edges is maintained at any zoom. Super EBC, Fujinon’s unique multi-layer coating technology, which prevents ghosting and flare. Now you can capture images with incredible sharpness even in adverse conditions, such as backlit conditions.

Fujifilm’s intelligent 100x digital zoom further expands the range of what this camera can do. Advanced signal processing technology achieves image quality comparable to that of the optical zoom. To make working at high magnification easier, the camera features a new zoom out button: users can control composition by quickly widening the field of view to re-capture a lost subject.

Even better photos, even faster shooting

Thanks to the combination of a newly developed noise reduction system and a 1/2.3-inch 16.4-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor, the S1 is capable of taking bright, clear pictures even in low light at ISO sensitivities up to 12,800 *4. In addition, the new multi-core processor improves camera response by performing parallel image processing: the maximum AF time is now 0.14 sec *3, 0.68 sec on time *5, the interval between shots is about 0.65 sec, and the maximum continuous shooting speed is about 10.0 fps *3. These new features, combined with the UHS-1 high-speed SD card interface, mean that users can take pictures very quickly without missing a single opportunity to capture a good shot.

Enhanced video recording

The S1 is capable of capturing high-definition Full HD video 1920 x 1080, 60p , while 5-stop Image Stabilization and 3D Noise Reduction have greatly improved performance during video shooting. Optical and electronic 5-stop image stabilization prevents blurring during vertical, horizontal and circular camera shifts inherent in dynamic video shooting. Also, the side-mounted zoom lever on the left side of the lens can contribute to good video quality. The side lever allows the user to easily adjust the zoom with their left hand while keeping their right hand on the shutter button. High-speed mode, on the other hand, offers the ability to quickly zoom in on the subject.

3D Noise Reduction uses multi-frame processing to improve image quality in high-sensitivity mode and make video exposure easier. The FinePix S1 also features Scene Recognition in movie mode, which automatically optimizes exposure according to ambient conditions, so you can focus all your attention on shooting. You can also use any of eight advanced art filters creatively during video recording, and a separate video recording button makes shooting faster than ever. And finally, the camera features a built-in slow motion shooting mode with up to 480 frames per second.

To speed up the editing process, the S1 also offers a number of unique in-camera video processing functions, including trimming clips and merging several individual videos into one file. Sound quality in movie recording is also improved with the built-in wind filter and silent lens during zooming and autofocus.

Take and share your shots wirelessly

The Fujifilm S1 offers the ability to shoot remotely via Wi-Fi connection with a tablet or smartphone *6. Wireless can also be used to transfer photos and movies to smartphones and PCs.

Simply download and install the newly developed Fujifilm Camera Remote app, then press the Wi-Fi connection button on your camera and enjoy a wireless LAN connection between your camera and any device that lets you not only take pictures remotely, but also change composition settings and create videos *7.

The images can be easily transferred to smartphones and tablets where they can be viewed in their full glory. And with Wi-Fi connectivity, saving photos and videos to your computer is no problem.

Awesome Features – Awesome Images

The Fujifilm S1 will never let today’s demanding photographers down, packed with features that are easy to use. Electronic viewfinder has a resolution of 920k. FinePix S1 is a high-precision digital zoom lens that improves image quality in glaring sunlight. The large, bright, variable angle LCD makes it easy to take pictures from a lower angle when photographing flowers, for example or from a higher angle when you lift the camera over your head in a crowd .

Images are sharp when manually focusing thanks to the focus center highlight function, which emphasizes the outlines of the subject and other areas with high contrast. The S1 can also shoot RAW images.

In addition to the traditional P, A, S and M functions, the mode dial also has a C custom setting, allowing the user to save and quickly load their favorite settings. The camera is equipped with a Function button, giving you quick access to such settings as white balance or sensitivity.

For greater creative freedom, several photo aspect ratios are available, including 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9. What’s more, advanced filters give users artistic expression right in the camera – there are 10 effects to choose from, including Pop Color vivid colors , Toy Camera, Miniature, Partial Color, High Key, Soft Focus, Cross Screen radiant glow effect of bright objects , Dynamic Tone, Fish Eye and Low-Key.

The S1 also lets you quickly process multiple exposures, storing two or more shots at different exposures and stitching them together for a high dynamic range HDR image. Using Motion Panorama 360 mode, users can capture panoramic views simply by pressing the shutter button and rotating 360 degrees. This very easy-to-use feature assists with stunning effects, especially when shooting landscapes.

A unique interval timer function that automatically releases the shutter at user-selectable intervals completes the picture. Photographs can be taken at intervals of up to 10 minutes for a maximum of 6 hours.

Additional Accessories

Lens hood LH-S1 and adapter ring AR-S1 make photography with the S1 even easier, letting you attach 72mm filters to the camera. The battery charger BC-85A makes it possible to take pictures while recharging the battery. In addition, the S1 can be charged from a PC using a USB cable or via a wall outlet using the included AC adapter, making charging much easier. Enjoy up to 350 shots at a time thanks to its low power consumption and long battery life *3.
