Test of the VES 3004 hand mixer

Food processing

The mixer is a baby, it has a small size, which will be appreciated by housewives of compact kitchens. Perhaps compactness is one of the most beautiful features of the device. Otherwise, it is a good mixer, designed for a housewife who will not wear it out with daily drudgery, but it can from time to time whip cream for dessert, cook baby pancakes, make dough for sponge cake.

Nozzles are made of polished steel, length 14cm is optimal. Whisk blades made of 5 mm wide strips. The shape of the whisk reminds one of an unopened tulip bud. The working part is narrowed, it is more convenient to get into some corner with them, but the mass is whipped slower, the whiskers just spread it around and do not fill it with air immediately. In addition, the narrow part gathers a thick mass this was the case with potatoes .

Compactness of the device and peculiarity of the whisk attachment increase user’s responsibility for the result, a high quality product requires more meticulous and attentive work of a hostess, i.e. for whipping not mixing one should work more actively with the mass, all the time moving whisk attachments around to achieve evenness, turning them around to lift the mass, filling it with air.

OPPORTUNITIES

POWER: 125 Watt.

CONTROL: 5 speeds.

INGREDIENTS: 2 whisk attachments, 2 hooks.

DIMENSIONS: 177x75x123 mm, whiskers 140 mm, cord length 1040 mm.

WEIGHT: 650 gr.

TEST NO. 1. WHIPPING EGG WHITES

Score – 6

The mixer whipped up an egg white foam in about 1 minute and 20 seconds. The foam is light and fluffy, but not as dense, the structure is porous, creamy in color.

TEST NO. 2. PUREE

Score – 9

The mixer grinds the potatoes very quickly, and then whips the mass, but again does not give the same fluffiness, which is why the score was lowered. To make the puree softer and lighter with the device, it is necessary to hold the whiskers at an inclined angle.

TEST #3. TEST

Score – 7

Conducted with hooks, they are also divided into right and left.

Despite its small size, the mixer proved its mettle when working with dough – it did not skimp and quickly mixed the ingredients, worked with mixing its own portion of dough. But with a larger volume the efficiency fell, the symptoms were a decrease in the speed of rotation of the hooks, binding them in the thickness of the dough.

CONTROL

Score – 6

Not a good one. The speed selector is rotary, the lever is switched by itself, but in the position “off” the lever is too low, it can be moved only by the outside of the finger – a fingernail, it is not only inconvenient it is tight, you need a considerable effort , but also unpleasant.

That’s why we switched it with just our other hand during the test. This device has five speeds and the starting speed is rather high. On this tested device, you have to push hard on the whisk release button, but it is conveniently located right under your finger.

FUNCTIONAL

Rating – 3

The device is designed for 5 minutes of continuous work, which in our test is almost a standard value, but as it is above – the device gets 3 points. There are no additional functions and modes, the evaluation does not change.

ERGONOMICS

Rating – 6

The mixer received a high score due to the combination of a fairly comfortable handle and low weight, it is not difficult to work with it, and even fixing the hand in an awkward position for example, to lift the mass is not a problem. The handle of the mixer is simple, smooth, without indentations, with a palm-lift.

COMFORT

Score – 2

Using a mixer has shown that putting it on the table requires attention. The design is not very stable: if you catch the mixer with your sleeve you can accidentally knock it over or even drop it on the floor. But the modest size of the device allows you to store it in the most convenient place. Cord length of just over a meter is optimal for some, but you can not go far from the socket. No cord winding.

NOISE LEVEL

Assessment – 2

A distinctive “woosh, woosh” that can be heard outside the kitchen. Although, maybe that’s what a real motor should sound like.
