Test of the ROLSEN RIO-2011 induction stove

Stove with multicooker functions – set of automatic programs. Some might find it interesting, others might find it superfluous. I have a question about the boiling program: why 18 minutes? Our test showed that during this time the stove can boil more than 3 liters of water. It would make more sense if the stove would turn off faster, like after ten minutes. Then there would be no need to keep an eye on the appliance when boiling water in a kettle of about 2 liters, and there would be no need to buy an additional appliance. 60 minutes seems a bit long for porridge and 90 minutes seems a bit short for soup.

On average values, the accuracy of the declared and measured values is very good. But we did not see the maximum power, neither in boiling water, nor in measuring the power.

FUNCTIONAL

Basic programs – “Basic”, “Fry”, “Grill”. They have the ability to adjust the heating power or temperature:

  • Basic set power 1200 W, adjustable from 200 to 2000 W in steps of 200 W ,

  • Frying set temperature 240° C 1800 W , range 70 to 280° C 70°, 90°, 120° and then in 20° increments ,

  • Grill set temperature 180° C 1200 W , range 70 to 280° C 70°, 90°, 120° and then in 20° increments ,

  • Milk 8 min. , Boiling 18 min , ., 2000 W , Rice/Kasha 60 min , Boiling 18 min . , Steam Cooking 15 min , I have a question about the Dual Boiler program. , Soup 90 min , Vaporizer 15 min , Steam 15 min . .

These programs have a timer for the cooking time: the heating switches off after the set time has elapsed.

The default cooking temperature is 240°C, but the maximum temperature is 280°C. The program “Grill” is set to 180 ° C.

Other programs have fixed cooking time and automatically set power. These data can not be changed. In this case, you can set the delayed start timer: the stove will turn on automatically after a specified period of time.

CONTROL

Large information display, convenient sensors. The display shows the power value, temperature in degrees or “auto” when you select a program. All programs are signed in American. It is possible to change the power level not only by tapping on “-” or “+” sensors, but also by sliding your finger from left to right on the slider to increase the power level, or from right to left to decrease it.

For informative purposes, it would be possible to indicate the power and temperature values under each level of the slider. When making a selection, the information appears on the display, but I would like to be more conscious of the choice.

SECURITY

The hob has all the necessary safety features. It switches off automatically after 2 hours, so you needn’t worry even if you have forgotten, for example, a pot of soup on the stove.

If there’s no pot on the stove, an error code instantly appears on the display, an acoustic signal sounds several times and then the stove goes automatically into standby mode. The fan for cooling the tile still works for a while, then it shuts off and only blinks the light on – tested.

Advantages

Slider control.

Timer and delayed start can be set for 24 hours.

The presence of the control panel lock.

Reasonable price.

Disadvantages

A little noisy.

The manufacturer claims a service life of 3 years less than the other models in the test .

I would like to see a recipe book.
