Oursson IP1200T tabletop induction stove test

Electric tabletop hobs

Large power or temperature selection range. Timer for automatic shutoff. Convenient and easy to use. Thoughtful safety.

Small appliances for the kitchen

Continuous operation time is limited to 3 hours, which makes it difficult to cook some stewed dishes. Noisy fan during operation.

Capability

Setting the temperature: 60 to 240 ° C/ step – 20 ° C.

Power setting: 200 to 1800 watts/step – 200 watts, but there is a value of 1100 watts.

Diameter of the magnetic part of the bottom of the dish: from 12 to 26 cm.

Max. operating time – 180 min. 3 ch. .

At first we thought we could combine temperature/power. But – no, the stove does this adjustment automatically. The user can control the process by adjusting either the power or the temperature. If you switch from the power setting to the temperature setting during cooking, the values are set to the maximum, i.e. the default values are 240°C, 180 min.

TEST NO. 2. Boil water by controlling the temperature.

Boil again a liter of cold water in the same bucket with a closed lid, setting the temperature to 100 ° C. Water boiled in 3 minutes. 30 seconds. and kept boiling steadily until we changed the temperature. I did not hear any clicking noises, the sound of the stove was smooth.

Conclusion no. 2: When setting the temperature operation, the stove is turned on to the maximum power to reach the set values as quickly as possible.

Without removing the ladle, we switched the temperature to 80 ° C. Boiling stopped right away!

Conclusion #3: Induction really changes the temperature value at lightning speed when in operation. In our opinion, even the gas stoves don’t react this quickly. What to say about the Hi-Light burners, which take several minutes to cool down! Such a “quick response” will appeal to all cooks and will not have to take away dishes from the stove, no need to worry that the food will burn on the not yet cooled burner.

After 30 seconds we set the temperature to 100 ° C. It took even longer than we expected, 1 min, to boil again. 10 sec.

Conclusion № 4: The stove really responds to changes in temperature. That means that this model’s temperature selection is not a marketing ploy, but a real possibility to cook based on this value.

TEST NO. 3. Checking the power.

Very interesting, how the stove works at low power. It’s no secret that cooking on a conventional stove requires stirring all the time to keep food from sticking. What happens on the induction stove?

We put a ladle of cold water on the stove, set the power to 200 watts. The process went. During operation, you could hear the characteristic clicking sound of shutting off. The water heated up, but it still does not boil: we had to wait for more than 30 min.

Conclusion № 5: By setting a low power, you can safely boil jam and reheat dishes without fear of overheating or boiling. At this power the temperature does not rise above 60 ° C.

Without removing the ladle from the stove, we changed the power to 400 watts. Clicking frequency increased. The water in the ladle did not boil, and in the depths, closer to the bottom, there are only individual small bubbles.

Conclusion № 6: You can cook on the stove in the actual mode of stewing – at a temperature below 100 ° C. In this case the maximum amount of vitamins remains in the food, vegetables retain their structure and color, and meat is soaked with vegetable juices. The timer for 3 hours ensures that, for example, chicken with vegetables or rabbit, cooked at a low temperature, is ready.

You can set either a temperature of 80 ° C or a power of 200-400 W in this case.

TEST # 4. Cooks at higher temperatures and heats evenly.

Since the test was carried out during the Shrovetide, we decided to fry the pancakes on the stove. Took a Oursson pan that is suitable for use on induction stoves and with a diameter that can be put on that stove.

This frying pan heats up really fast, in one minute, with 1200 Watt power. The pancake fries on one side for about 10 seconds, then flip it over and that’s it! Fastest way to make pancakes. Let’s look at the pancake: the very middle is more brown than the edges, but it is not burnt.

Conclusion no. 7: High temperatures are reached in no time. In this case you can especially see how induction differs from other heating methods. Impressive!

Stove heats up fairly evenly. This is indicated by the color of the cooked pancakes. The middle is a little darker, but not particularly so – this is also the case when cooking pancakes on the stove.

Control

Sensor. Keys +/-, timer, temperature, power.

Information display.

Audible signal at the end of work, in case of errors.

LED indication: power, temperature, time.

Automatic control of cooking temperature.

Timer – up to 180 min.

TEST #5. Let’s count how many keys you need to press when turning it on:

If we don’t change anything, we just press the power button. In this case, the stove is switched on at maximum power/temperature for the maximum time – 1 push.

If we change the power or temperature, turn on button 1 , the button for power or temperature 2 , press the button +/- as many times as necessary to set the desired value up to 9 t/power – 3 buttons, up to 10 presses .

If you set the off time, then add 2 more presses – on the timer key and on the +/-. The nice thing is that in this case it is not necessary to repeatedly press the +. You just put your finger on the key – and the time changes by the minute until it reaches the desired value, 5 keys, up to 12 presses.

During testing, we noticed that the keys are very sensitive – respond to the slightest touch, so it is not recommended to touch the control panel during operation: the settings can be confused.

Conclusion no. 8: You are in complete control of the process and you feel like you’re in charge. The stove obeys all orders. At the same time, the process is not complicated and you get used to it very quickly. At first glance, 12 pushes might seem a bit much. But imagine that you choose the power, changing the indicator to a minimum, you set the time – that is, you set all the parameters. And then you can safely go about your business: the cooking temperature will not change, and after a certain time the stove will turn off by itself.

Safety

Protection against reconnection without a pot.

Protection against overheating.

Automatic shutdown for unsuitable pans.

Automatic shut off when the cookware is removed from the stove.

Automatic detection of pan diameter.

Auto power off after more than 2 hours in standby mode.

TEST #6. Check protection.

As much as we’ve tried to confuse the stove!

We put a knife on the hot plate, turn it on, press the Power button. The alarm sounds and the error code appears on the display. The tile doesn’t work.

We put a pan on the stove, the bottom of which is not magnetized, turn on the stove, press the key Temperature. A beep sounds and an error code appears on the display.

Cooking pancakes. Lift the pan to distribute the batter. A signal sounds and an error code appears on the display. Putting the pan on the stove – the appliance continues to work within the parameters you set.

Conclusion no. 9: Safety is well thought out. The stove will not turn on without a pot or with an inappropriate object on the surface. At the same time, the appliance reacts adequately to short-term lack of cookware, preserving the settings for further use.

Automatic switch-off in standby mode for more than two hours – a gift for the forgetful hostess, protecting against even the most unlikely of surprises.

Appearance

Dimensions: 38x30x6 cm.

Power cord length – 150 cm.

The stove is compact and neat.

The design is modern.

The surface is ceramic, smooth, without a frame.

Big buttons, bright indicators, all inscriptions are visible and understandable.

Conclusion: The stove makes a very good impression. It fits in beautifully in a modern kitchen. Its compact dimensions make it easy to take with you when you go to the cottage.

Care

Ceramics are generally quite easy to care for. For the induction one especially, as it doesn’t heat up very much. The surface, however, becomes hot because the bottom of the cookware heats up. And yet it can’t be compared with the temperatures that occur on the glass ceramic top of electric stoves. Many users even cook by covering the cooktop with a paper towel, which is then thrown away. We didn’t take the risk of repeating this experience, and after cooking we just wiped the surface of the tile with a cloth.

Instructions

Like all Oursson equipment, the stove is supplied with a detailed and clear instruction booklet in good American, printed in large print on white, polygraphic quality paper.
