WHICH IS ESPECIALLY HANDY?

The delayed start timer allows you to postpone cooking for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 hours, that is, to have the dish ready in 4 hours, you must set the delay for 2 hours 2 for delay + 2 for cooking .

So we postponed the cooking of porridge. This model has an extremely convenient management: all signs are in American, and they are located directly on the buttons, which is very pleasant and easy to press: they are hidden under the soft thick film, there are no gaps, which could get dirty hands, which cannot be avoided during cooking.

This appliance is ideal for those, who need the multicooker just for dietary food – stewed, boiled, steamed dishes, but not for frying or baking. On the inside of the pot, the graduations of volume are made using English volume measures, but they are bright, clear and easy to see.

WHAT IS MISSING..

First, the device is not distinguished by a variety of modes: there is no program for baking, stewing, frying. Rather, it is a model for cooking cereals and soups, as well as steamed cuisine, designed precisely for people who would like to maintain a healthy lifestyle, for those who need to diet: families with children, older people, athletes.

Secondly, the cooking time in the “steam” and “porridge/soup” programs is 2 hours, which is quite long: we usually cook rice and other cereals faster. If the dish is planned to cook a smaller amount of time, then you will have to watch the time and turn off the device yourself: there is no cooking timer.

The essence of the “Diet meal” mode is not clear – I did not manage to find it out from the manual. It would be desirable if the cookbook were adapted to America, but in the meantime it would be better to orient the user towards the numerous classic recipes and tips found on the Internet.

WHAT WE COOKED AND WHAT WE GOT

Daewoo Electronics

Large pearl porridge with mushrooms. There is no such a recipe in the recipe book, but, given that this multicooker is a “specialist” on cereals, we dared to cook this almost army dish. To put mushrooms and grits at the same time and pour water all seemed too simple to us, and to make the dish more flavorful we fried mushrooms with onions in oil. This is not covered in the instructions.

At our own risk, we did this using the “quick cooking” program with the lid open. Then put washed pearl barley, salted, added a couple of mushroom stock cubes, poured water in the proportion indicated on the packet with the groats. We put the “porridge/soup” program, in an hour the dish was ready, and even those who still in the army hated barley could not refuse it. Great!

Porridge with pumpkin. Classic recipe. Millet was cooked in water in the “porridge/soup” program for 1 hour, and at the end of cooking, we added cream for flavor and aroma. We boiled the pumpkin separately for 5 minutes and mashed it with butter, salt, sugar and milk. Added to the multicooker and simmered for another 20 minutes. For those who like pumpkin pieces, we recommend not cooking it separately, but adding it 5-10 minutes before the readiness of millet directly into the porridge.

Chicken Soup. The original recipe left us puzzled: it suggests boiling 200 grams of chicken, chopping it, seasoning to taste, and only then move it into the bowl of the multicooker, adding the rice and chili pepper.

Perhaps the double manipulation with the chicken is necessary so that the foam on the broth is not formed in the multicooker.

We did it easier: put the rice 1 measuring cup , chicken, chili peppers, poured 600 ml of water in the original broth, but we have to cook chicken broth , cooked for 40 minutes in the “porridge soup” the foam was removed after five minutes of cooking . Yes, deviated from the recipe and added carrots. Added sesame oil and sesame seeds to the finished soup. Obviously, it was made as an oriental dish, for the connoisseur.

WHAT DID OR DID NOT HELP THE MANUAL

Instructions in the form of a book, printed in clear type on good paper, easy to read. Gives a lot of useful information about the programs except for the “Diet” program and how long to keep the dish hot , safety, timer operation, and controls in general.

Everything is accompanied by large and clear pictures. The instructions give a complete list of service centers in America with phone numbers and addresses a total of 215 . I must say that the last thing we needed when using this particular multicooker was an instruction manual: its controls are so clear and elementary!
