Impressions

Control, features of programs and modes.

Good choice of programs and completely russified control panel, light indication of programs and audible signal of the end of cooking leave pleasant impression, however there are some moments that are difficult to get used to. The first is that the touch “buttons” must be held for 2 seconds, a light quick touch is not enough. At first, they seem to be “slow-witted”, I even had the feeling that they do not respond – in short, the buttons require getting used to.

As well as the system of setting and counting time – perhaps the most unusual in the tested devices. The minimum time unit used in the programs Fry and Bake is not a minute or 5 minutes, but 0.1 hour, i.e. 6 minutes. Thus, when setting the cooking time in these programs, one must constantly recall the multiplication table and translate, for example, 0.3 hours into minutes: 3×6 = 18 minutes, etc.d. Otherwise – delayed start, saving settings – everything is like with most models.

The quantity and quality of the programs is quite satisfactory for such an inexpensive device, but there is no program for milk porridge, in the Soup/Kasha program, the milk runs away if poured over 1/4 of the bowl volume, and there is no possibility to reduce the temperature in any mode. Interestingly, there is no steam program. The manual recommends this Stew, but the minimum time there is 1 hour, which is only suitable for meat, and for steaming vegetables, fish, dumplings very long: you have to watch the process.

Points:

Control: minus 1 point for the awkward time calculation, minus 1 point for the lack of the ability to set the temperature in at least one of the modes. Total: 8 points.

Interface: minus 1 point for non-responsiveness of the buttons. Total: 9 points.

Choice of programs: minus 3 points for the lack of programs for milk porridge, express cooking and steaming. Total: 7 points.

Price/performance ratio.

Price range is small, from 2,990 Dollars. up to 4,000 Dollars., which, in our opinion, corresponds to the quality and capabilities of the device. If you get used to the “knickknacks” of control – it is a decent multicooker.

Our comment to consumers: replace the paddles with a softer silicone, normal plastic can scratch the coating of the bowl.

Our comment for the manufacturer: such a convenient removable inner lid is a huge plus for the multicooker, and often even in expensive models of famous brands there is no such advantage, but in the instructions there is no word on how to remove and install back the inner lid. Although it’s easy to do, the instructions just need to be refined.

The test “rice”

Multicooker Rolsen RMC-5077

In the program Rice, 200 grams of rice and 400 ml of water. Rice program is not adjustable by time, it automatically determines the ratio and volume of rice and water. In our case it boiled for 30 minutes. Result – the rice was a little overcooked, we recommend reducing the amount of water and cooking time.

The rice does not stick to the bottom. Note that the instructions recommend the ratio of rice to water 1 to 1.2, whereas the package of rice says 1 to 2. Tried to cook as the instructions say – did not work: the water boiled out, the rice is hard. But it’s a question to the manual, not to the appliance: it does everything right!

Score: 9 out of 10.

The “baking” test

Rolsen

Bisquick in the slices – no moisture.

The middle gets slightly soggy, we must keep an eye on it.

We left the default time: 1 hour, as the difficulty with the calculations when setting the time did not inspire to set a more accurate time. The sponge cake came out with a slightly soggy middles on the top surface diameter about 3cm . I had the impression that it was a condensate dripped on the biscuit. We blotted the moisture with a napkin and kept the biscuit for about 10 minutes in the keep warm mode – it all evens out, the biscuit is dry inside. We tried baking a sour cream cake: the same, with a few drops of water in the middle. Does not affect the overall quality of baked goods, but just adds to the anxiety about the result.

Points: minus 2 points for insufficient moisture outflow during baking. Total: 8 out of 10.

The “frying” test

Chicken in this powerful appliance browns very quickly!

The Meat Frying program fries quickly and evenly, the chicken thighs took 25 minutes to cook, the vegetables are very fast – 5 minutes.

Score: 10 out of 10.
