TEST #1. GERMAN COMPACTNESS

Don’t expect a vacuum cleaner to suddenly become a miniature gadget. Thomas TWIN XT is still big and sturdy, but it’s smaller than its predecessors. Compare: Thomas TWIN XT 486x318x306mm. Thomas TWIN T2 and Thomas black ocean: 485x340x355mm. As you can see, the length of the vacuum cleaner is almost the same, but the height and depth differ significantly! + The vacuum cleaner really “lost weight” and became lower.

TEST № 2. WHAT AN OBEDIENT THOMAS!

Honestly, my job is hard. All equipment that comes in for testing, I test, and often the telescopic tubes of vacuum cleaners replace my dumbbells, and the units themselves – simulators with traction. The more pleasant and surprising it was to discover that the Thomas TWIN XT obediently follows me, obeying my light movements. Turning, reversing, everything is smooth and effortless. I examined the wheels and understood that they are the secret. Rear wheels are much bigger than previous models. But the front ones are absolutely wonderful, each one rotates freely around its axis and has five built-in rollers. But not only the body has enhanced maneuverability! The hose rotates on its axis without twisting or obstructing the bases of the floor/mopper and parquet nozzles are easy to lay parallel to the floor, so they can get under furniture with legs only 8 cm high! These nozzles swivel freely on their base, allowing them to maneuver between obstacles, perfectly “fit” into corners, avoid furniture, etc. d. + Easy to drive, swivels, excellent maneuverability and “passability” of the nozzles, light telescopic tube.

TEST №3. SHAKING THE NOVELTY

The aquafilter of previous models was good for everything – it retained dust, cleaned the air, but it was not so easy to clean the filter itself. The plastic box had dimensions of 255x270x215 mm, it had no lid, but the XT series models used an improved design aquafilter – Aqua-Box. Its dimensions are reduced, only 245x210x180 mm due to this, and the vacuum cleaner itself became more compact , it now closes the lid and has a handle for carrying. The Aqua-Box lid makes it easier to clean up after cleaning: pour dirty water into the toilet, pour clean water in, close the lid tightly, shake vigorously a few times and pour dirty water out again. To be honest, I repeated this procedure twice – too much dirt collected by the vacuum cleaner, it just did not want to stick from the bottom of the container. Done – now you can leave the Aqua-Box out to dry for a while. + With the lid, the cleaning procedure became more hygienic and easier. The Aqua-Box is smaller than a standard aquafilter, making it possible to reduce the size of the vacuum cleaner itself. The Aqua-Box is easy to carry by the handle. – Some dirt hair, hair gets caught on the inside of the Aqua-Box and has to be removed by hand. If you, like me, have pets, their hair is better to remove with a turbo brush, which can be purchased separately or choose another model of Thomas XT – Vestfalia. But to be fair, it is not easy to clean the dry cyclone in such cases: the compressed dust clogs the cone corridors of the multicyclone, and when the container is emptied, some of the dry dust inevitably crumbles and gets into the air.

TEST # 4. AND THE OLD ONE, TOO..

It comes with lots of attachments and accessories, but my favorite was the dry vacuum cleaner for parquet flooring with a work surface made of natural horsehair and felt. Remember the museum’s felt slippers? Visitors put them on and helped care for the antique wooden flooring without realizing it themselves. Natural materials keep parquet and laminate floors looking shiny and well-groomed, keeping them polished and eliminating even the slightest damage. There is no better method for cleaning parquet than this “ancient method”, but you can use it in a modern vacuum cleaner.

TEST NO. 5. “AND WE DON’T HAVE A CARPET! – WE HAVE GOOD!”

New maximum power has been increased from 1600 watts to 1700 watts. As for the suction power, the German manufacturers do not write this parameter, as in the world there are no uniform standards for its measurement. Thomas models, this time was just another. But it is important to note that the power is not reduced in the process of cleaning, as it is a vacuum cleaner without a dust bag. When the vacuum cleaner is turned on, the middle power the ECO step is set by default, because the highest power is not really needed very often, and the vacuum cleaner can cope with most tasks, while saving energy and not creating excessive noise. After vacuuming for almost 1.5 hours which is how long it took to thoroughly clean the floor and upholstered furniture in my 2-bedroom apartment , I did not feel that the quality of cleaning has deteriorated. But I decided to check it and gave the vacuum cleaner a dirty doormat for “dessert”, it used to have a nice striped color. Only on medium power the vacuum cleaned the mat so that it simply did not recognize it and the speed of the airflow had to be further reduced by a mechanical regulator on the handle, because otherwise the nozzle is tightly sucked to the mat . I wish I had more carpets in my house, because I’d always feared that they’d get covered in cat hair, but I’ll probably get some now, because I don’t mind if I get a THOMAS vacuum cleaner.

Possibility of electronic power control – soft buttons with light indication on the body + mechanical regulator on the handle, excellent suction quality throughout the cleaning.

TEST #6. WASH-WASH-CLEAN-CLEAN

But you can’t do it any other way. The thing is that Thomas only cleans the floor with clean water, while the used liquid together with the dirt is sucked out by the powerful turbine. This is exactly what has NOT CHANGED in the new Thomas vacuum cleaner. All Thomas vacuum cleaners clean the floor in this way. Add Thomas Cleaning Concentrate to the water – 20 ml per 1 litre of water. If you wash one part of the floor with Thomas and the other part with a rag or mop, you may not see such a staggering difference that a camera can capture. But the process of washing itself – without rinsing the cloths, without fiddling with dirty water – is impressive: the water is pumped under pressure, “knocking out” the dirt. And another thing: the used water in the container becomes terribly dirty, visually much dirtier than usual after cleaning with a mop, and this is an indicator of the quality of cleaning. In addition, this model can wet clean carpets and upholstered furniture, as well as quickly pick up spills.
