Thanks to its high-resolution stereo circuitry and excellent noise immunity, this CD player is able to play music of all difficulties. The player can play SACD records, so its features are much wider than most CD-players.

Denon

Features

Digital to analogue conversion of audio data is performed by two Burr-Brown PCM1790 audio DACs. The player plays both regular CD and more detailed SACD record formats. To enhance the detail of the fine details in the sound, the proprietary Advanced AL24 Processing technology is used, subjecting the audio data to oversampling and adaptive digital filtering using a digital signal processor. Separate transformers are used to power analog and digital audio circuits. All audio connectors are gold-plated to reduce switching noise.

The player is equipped with the original Denon S.V.H Suppression Vibration Hybrid with vibration reduction system. The multi-level chassis enclosure also provides extra protection against unwanted external vibrations. The unit has an impressive size and weight. Solid metal is a solitary theme in the turntableā€™s design. Even the remote control is metallic, including the buttons on it. The front panel display reads in light purple, with three dimmable modes of brightness and one full blackout. Three readouts are available: elapsed time since start of track, remaining time to end of track, and remaining time to end of disc.

Playback programming feature lets you create a playlist of up to 30 songs. It also features shuffle and repeat playback of tracks, discs, or marked sections. Implemented Pure Direct Mode, which automatically cuts off all auxiliary circuits to reduce noise.

Sound

Pop, electronic music. Bass and treble sound balanced almost perfectly. All areas of the sound are detailed, and the detail on top is unbelievable. Its sound is very clear and crisp, and with all its detail the top does not tend to dominate the music at all, so you can turn up the volume without sacrificing listening comfort. The bass of this unit produces a very deep, rich and intelligible, so even the same bass instrument sounds unusually varied. Electronic music with rich background music creates a great atmosphere. The detail-oriented action and the cyclical electronic loops do not sound obtrusive, but rather create interest with each repetition, creating a mesmerizing environment. The stereo track reveals all of the composerā€™s discoveries, revealing many interesting sound nuances. The sense of multi-dimensional music is created: you can easily focus on a layer of music and, detuned from the rest of the sounds, listen to that layer as if it were separate. The rest of the sound is not distracting at all, but remains in the mind as a harmonious background. It is also remarkable that you can follow each level of the sound, discovering new horizons of a seemingly familiar piece of music. Not surprisingly, at some elusive moment you sink into the atmosphere of the composition, and this moment somewhat resembles the transition from waking to sleep. By the way testing turns into sound enjoyment, and you have to force yourself to go to the next song before you hear the current one. Rock. In all the compositions, and not just rock music, I liked the very detailed sound of the vocals. The detail is really high, with many details of the articulation, which brings the vocal part to life. The baritone sounds velvety, with high detail and correct sizzling speech sounds. The female voice is embellished with sensual notes, its sound is open in all range. You feel as if you are about to hear every vocal vibrato. The stereotrack allows you to feel the emotions of the performer, so the vocals cause a response, even if the singer does not have a perfect voice, but sings with feeling.

The metallic sounds of the guitar strings are great. The metal percussion is amazing, the top literally sparkles with the cymbal metal. The high definition, or even hyper-detail, of the top, however, does not make it sound harsh or distantly technical. Top end definition results in a deep, but not harsh mid-range punch and no muffled vocal consonants. Everywhere the music sounds liberated, but accurate at the same time. The sounding of the music is rich and easy to understand, the details of the sound is not accompanied by excessive complication.

Jazz

. The jazz bass liked the elastic sound of the helicones and correct double bass pulses both in the bass and in the lower middle. The jazz brass sounds bright, open, with joyful notes. As in the electronic music genre, jazz playing allows you to highlight a particular thread in a composition and follow it from beginning to end, so detailed and finished is the conveyance of musical phrases and themes. Nothing catches your ear, your attention is totally absorbed by the music. While listening to jazz compositions over and over again you catch yourself thinking that even things that previously seemed unworthy of attention begin to sound interesting. The player is able to show the beauty of sound of those parts of the score, which cannot be achieved by many other devices. Some disliked compositions get a new sound, and you suddenly discover much in music you didnā€™t like before. Even completely foreign music does not repel at once, but arouses if not sympathy, then at least interest.

Classics

. The detail and depth of the bass lets you sharpen the softest parts of the big brass parts, for example, during the preludes of symphonic concerts. The texture of the wind instruments is amazingly realistic, which is true regardless of the frequency localization of the instrument. Deeper metallic percussion, such as triangles, is wonderfully rendered, allowing you to feel the depth of the scene and the transparent detail of the sound. The background music is unusually informative, the distant second-third instruments sound distinct and detailed at the same time as the solo sources. Sound detail is so high that you can hear one musician turn the page and another take a breath, not to mention the soft coughing of listeners in the audience.

All in all, nothing gets in the way or distracts from getting into the spirit of the piece. Under the classical music with pleasure you switch off and just relax.

Price
