Entries for the 15th edition of the Sony World Photography Awards will be accepted from June 1, 2021. Entry to the competition is free, and photographers’ submissions are judged by a peer-reviewed jury of industry leaders.
Established by the World Photography Organization, the Sony Worls Photography Awards competition now has an authoritative voice in the industry. By celebrating the best work in contemporary photography over the past year, the competition provides ample opportunity and exposure for photographers around the world. Supported by Sony, the competition contributes to the culture of photography by providing a global platform for contemporary talent.
Photographers from around the world are invited to participate in four competitions: the Professional Competition invites photographers to submit a series of five to ten striking entries in any of ten categories the Open Competition selects the best single entries in one of ten categories the Junior Competition invites young photographers aged 12-19 to submit a single entry per month on a theme and the Student Competition selects the most exciting entries from photography students around the world. In addition, there will be National Competitions to recognize talented photographers at the regional level.

Professional Competition: January 13, 2022, 1pm GMT
Open competition: Jan. 6, 2022, 1 p.m. GMT
Student Competition: November 30th, 2021, 1pm GMT
Junior Contest: submissions on assigned topics are accepted from the first to last day of each month total contest period: June 1 to December 31, 2021 .
Prizes
All winners of the Professional, Open, Junior and Student categories will receive Sony digital equipment. In addition, the “Photographer of the Year” award will bring a $25,000 prize to the winner, and the winner of the “Open Competition Photographer of the Year” award will receive a $5,000 prize.All winners and short-listed finalists will be showcased at the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London, which will open in cities around the world. In addition, the winning entries will be published in the Contest’s annual album.
