Split systems: when it’s stuffy, enrich the air! Oxygen.

The overwhelming majority of air conditioners, including split-systems, are simply providing circulation of air in a closed room, giving it the most comfortable temperature, humidity and cleaning from dust and microorganisms.

Oxygen in the studio, carbon dioxide outdoors!

But after a while, the concentration of carbon dioxide rises and the percentage of oxygen in the room goes down because of the air we exhale.

That is why many companies today offer wall-mounted split-systems with oxygen generator. The name of the method is not entirely accurate, oxygen is not produced, it is simply delivered from the outside air through a unique membrane system.

The membrane is made of a special film that is highly permeable to oxygen. During the operation of the air conditioner a vacuum is created on one side of the membrane, ensuring the supply of the outside air. Oxygen and nitrogen molecules from outside air pass easier through the membrane.

Oxygen passes through the membrane about 2.5 times faster than nitrogen. This makes it possible to increase the oxygen content to at least 21% this is the normal percentage of oxygen in the air .

That’s all well and good, but there’s a “but”. The fact is that the enrichment of the air with oxygen must necessarily be accompanied by simultaneous removal of excess carbon dioxide, formed as a result of our vital activity.

Specialist of the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the American Academy of Sciences in the field of hypoxia oxygen depletion , full member of the American Academy of Cosmonautics E.And. Based on many years of observations of the health of astronauts, Kovalenko says that increasing the carbon dioxide content in the air to 0.5% instead of the natural 0.03% begins to harm the health. And no oxygen generation, even up to 30%, but without removal of excess carbon dioxide will help here.

Japanese company Hitachi has offered an effective solution to this problem. The company has put on the market a new generation of split-systems that have the exclusive integrated ventilation Air Exchanger.

In the construction of Air Exchanger system there is a separate fan for the input of fresh air from the street and the intake of air with a high concentration of carbon dioxide from the premise.

The incoming air from outside undergoes a three-stage purification process in the filters made by the newest nanotechnology. At the same time the polluted air with high content of carbon dioxide is emitted from the room to the outside.

Because of this effective air exchange even with closed windows the room, where there is such conditioner, will be always filled with clean and fresh air.
