The new camera uses the same technologies as Sony’s top-of-the-range VENICE camcorder, including S-CinetoneTM cinematic picture function for accurate tone reproduction, as well as S-Log3 and S-Gamut3 gamma encoding and S-Gamut3 profiles.Cine which offer the flexibility of post-processing. Advanced video recording features

FX6 uses the same autofocus technology as the Alpha series. Fast hybrid autofocus, 627 focal phase autofocus sensors, facial recognition, and real-time continuous eye AF at high frame rates, all enable operators to accurately track fast-moving subjects in slow motion. Fast Hybrid AF works with more than 50 E lenses and even in 4K 120p. High 4K QFHD resolution at 120 frames per second enables you to record video with up to five times the slow motion.

FX6 has a built-in variable density ND electronic filter. ND filter density can be changed automatically or manually in small increments of 1/4 to 1/128. Produce properly exposed images with no effect on depth of field or shutter angle, even under fluctuating lighting conditions. Combined with the superior light sensitivity of the camera the variable density electronic ND filter enables excellent results in almost any shooting conditions.

Created for photographers and videographers who shoot on the go

The camera body is made of magnesium alloy. It measures 116mm x 153mm x 114mm and weighs only 890 grams, so it’s easy to use in any environment. FX6 has a heat dissipating design that prevents components from overheating during long recording sessions. The modular design of the new camera makes it easy to attach accessories such as grip grips and viewfinders, or to attach the camera to other devices such as steadicams and drones.

The 3.5-inch LCD viewfinder can be mounted in various places on the camera body for easy shooting and touch-screen menu control. A one-touch menu with quick access to favorite features lets operators adjust key settings, such as codec, Imager Scan Mode, image size and frequency, ISO baseline and light sensitivity, shooting mode, and volume.

Reliability for professional performance

The FX6 is ideal for professional use, and features 12G-SDI for 16-bit RAW image output, HDMI output, built-in Wi-Fi, and four-channel audio recording via XLR, multi-interface connector and built-in stereo microphone . Two card slots allow you to use not only SDXC UHS-II/UHS-I, but also CF express Type A cards, which have higher capacity and provide faster reading and writing speeds.

Sony’s Catalyst Browse/Prepare software makes it easier and faster to process footage. Users can import FX6 stabilization system metadata into Catalyst Browse/Prepare, allowing them to compensate for camera shake and stabilize handheld shots in post-processing. The FX6 has a separate clip marker button that makes it easy to filter and find the best shots with Catalyst Browse/Prepare. These applications also store camera rotation metadata, eliminating the need to rotate footage. The FX6 is also compatible with the Sony Content Browser mobile app, which lets you control focus, iris and zoom remotely.

Sony has not officially announced specific release dates for the FX6 Cinema Line camera in other countries yet. However, the launch of the camera in America could indicate a global release in the near future. It is common for tech products to have staggered release dates in different markets, so it is possible that the camera will be available in other countries shortly after its US release.
