Both models are lightweight and compact, with high performance. The cameras are equipped with a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24-720 mm lens Eq.35mm with 30x optical zoom, Optical SteadyShot stabilization and Zoom Assist. They also shoot in 4K video, record RAW images and have built-in Bluetooth for syncing to smartphones.
Both the HX99 and HX95 feature an Exmor CMOS sensor of 1/2.3 inches and 18 megapixel resolution, which works in tandem with the upgraded BIONZ X image processor and LSI interface. With a continuous shooting speed of 10k/s and focusing in as little as 0.09 sec. With a clipboard capacity of 155 images before slowing down.
Frame subjects in both cameras with a tilting LCD screen that can be tilted back 180 degrees, and a retractable OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder. Both cameras also have a built-in flash, Eye AF for easy portraits and My Menu for quick access to frequently used functions. Both cameras feature a small notch on the body for a better grip.
The HX99 is touch sensitive and the main difference is the new touch screen. This gives the cameras Touch Focus and Touch Shutter functions as well as a Touch Pad function for smooth change of focus point when using the viewfinder. In addition, the lens adjustment ring on the HX99 can be adjusted to control parameters such as manual focus and zoom.

The cameras will be available on the European market starting in October 2018. The Cyber-shot HX99 will be priced at &euro 520, the Cyber-shot HX95 will be affordable &euro 500
