The IXUS 240 HS doesn’t demonstrate the versatility and omnipotence of the older model in the family. This camera’s strength is versatility in everything, including cost. With comparable capabilities and no less modernity IXUS 240 costs 2-3 thousand Dollars cheaper.

It has the usual 5x zoom lens and 16 megapixel sensor. The slim body, in addition to white and black, has received optional blue, pink and purple. A large touchscreen with gesture control, and the ability to send photos wirelessly via Wi-Fi complements the picture.
Although the formal loss in versatility is noticeable in numbers, it is unlikely that ordinary amateur photographers will care much. We used to live with triple zoom! And more affordable price makes IXUS 240 HS an interesting choice.
