Really Right Stuff has updated its line of tripods

Tripod manufacturer Really Right Stuff RRS has completely revamped its product lineup, releasing 17 tripod models under the Mark 2 designation. Like previous models, the updated versions are hand-assembled and made of carbon fiber. In addition to this, they are also more ergonomic and have received a number of new design improvements.

One of the most noticeable changes is the addition of several 1/4″-20 jacks on the side of the base, allowing you to mount many more accessories needed for your shoot. A hook at the bottom of the base is now available to hang a backpack full of accessories or to secure ballast, providing tripod stability – especially useful when shooting in windy conditions.

The twist-lock locks that lock the leg sections have been given additional seals to prevent sand, water and dirt from getting inside the lock, thus extending its lifespan. There are also vents at the top of the legs, which contribute to smoother running of the sections. The holes are designed so that the outgoing airflow is directed to the center of the lower part of the tripod, thus avoiding any contact with the optics.

Sure Grip holder in the updated tripods got new screws similar to L-plate from RRS which now makes it possible to change the holder on the tripod with one hexagonal key. This will be especially convenient if you use L-plate mounts, which have a special compartment for storing hexagonal.

Price and affordability

The tripods are available from $500 to $1500 to order at BH or through the RRS website
